Do you think the motivational speakers were successful in life?

i think some of them are really successful some don't. sometimes i also think if they do apply what they said in their own life. sometimes some things are easier said than done.
its like a carpenter who makes houses but he don't have his own house...hehe

Lol, is that true? The one i've experienced with was a motivational seminar on youths where alcohol and smoking was discussed. The speaker talked about the bad effects of smoking in the health and pocket. He later confessed he's a smoker. He justified himself that it's because he's earning his own bucks and that the case on us is that we were not earning for ourselves yet but getting allowances from parents.

if the speaker or life coach talks about his/her struggles before success and has it documented in a book, then it gives them credibility. if they give actual examples and experiences from their life, if they point out the difference in their methods compared to others, give practical tips and give measurable results, then it's worth thinking about. if they use the money they rake it to help other people, support causes, and not just rewards themselves, they're a cut above the rest.
