I heard one a while ago about the new Orleans floods and it was excellent,really heart felt.
There are some very talented writers out there and when hey match their words to good rhythms it is a winning combination.

Yes it is, I sometimes think they are as well worded as Shakespeare.
When they get the timing right ,it is a very good listening experience.
Sadly some people think all you need is the words and they don't put any expression into their performance which spoils it, r they might have good expression but the wording is not very well thought out.
Good raps are rare but worth the wait.

Yes, I believe that for a rap song to be really considered "something", it should have equal weight in terms of the lyrics, and the expression. Music is nothing without the authenticity of the emotions brought out in the song, so yes.

The good ones are like diamonds,they really show up amongst the rest of the ordinary stuff.
There seems to be two kinds of youth that do rap, the one kind try to be all attitude and atmosphere but have no real message to convey, they are often awful to listen to , the other kind are the poets who want to put their feelings to music in a modern way and they are the best ones.

hmm that's true,its not nice to have any music blasted at you from the street.
I think things like that don't really help to promote youth and their music but sometimes it is much older people and then they just look a bit childish.

I always listen to them for their rhythm.
If it fits, it can work on my mp3 for exercise music.
I dont really know many of the artists names.

Oh, you must know artists who are really good on making beats so that you would have updates on their new songs that go out.

Yes I am like that too.
I have changed my mind a lot about rap in particular because I used to put the whole thing in the 'awful' category, in my head but now I have heard a lot of rap and find that there are some excellent performers but you will always still get lots of awful and only a few really good artists.
I think it is the attitude thing that often goes along with them.
Some of the performers think all you need is to sound confrontational or obscene and it will make you popular but they are wrong.

Is it the style of the lyrics you don't like or the type of rhythm or the music they have alongside? I find the shoutier ones are quite aggressive sounding and some of them sound like gang type chants but the well worded ,cleverly timed ones are okay.
