what's the latest with hulk hogan  

Hulk Hogan has been working with Total Nonstop Action or TNA wrestling. He isn't there to wrestle but his job is to be something like a boss and make matches.

Hulg Hogan is now the host on TNA Wrestling. It comes on monday nights at Spike TV at 8:00. It is located in Florida so not sure if anywhere else gets the Show or not. He has been doing really good and he has been wrestling here and there on the show.

Hulk Hogan is currently a part of the Total Non Stop Action Wrestling promotion. He signed a contract for one year to lend his name as a sort of a spokesperson/matchmaker/sometimes wrestler back in October of last year. The promotion airs on Spike TV on Monday Nights, at 8:00 PM Eastern time with their TNA Impact show. While the promotion tends not to the cup of tea of some people because its sometimes confusing story telling and its sometimes confusing gimmick matches, I find it to be alright, with a lot of decent competitors and names that you might recognize.

Hogan signed to try and add some credibility to the promotion, to make it a number two to compete with WWE, similar to WCW in the mid nineties(and with some of the other talent). Now whether he done any good, that's really a matter of what you consider to be a success. At first there was some interest, for about the first month. Especially with the move to Monday nights. Then it took a bit of a downward plunge in the television ratings. People who gave it a try left for it not being enough like WWE or because of the storytelling being too scattered brained. And then diehards left it because of it being too much like WWE and not the alternative that they wanted. So not good news. Hogan has wrestled once but appears to be in the authority figure/commissioner/general manager/spokesman role on TV for now. That's the latest of the Hulkster and whether his time in TNA will be a success remains to be see. But that's another topic for another time.

Hogan is in TNA now, and he has been told by his doctors not to wrestle after leaving his last match in agony. As far as I am aware, he's just there for PR, he doesn't book matches or scripts etc but I think he has more or less complete creative control over his character.

Is he being successful in generating buzz for TNA? Not really. As others have said, they need to ditch him, keep Vince Russo and Eric Bishoff, and hire someone like Paul Heyman to oversee Russo and Bishoff and make TNA more consistent.

For those who don't know what I am talking about, there was a storyline where Raven came in, aligned himself with Dr Stevie, and talked up a feud with him and Abyss. I think there was one match which came out of this. Since Hogan arrived, nothing. Except Abyss making a complete idiot of himself by flicking between deranged monster to really bad Hulk Hogan impersonator.

So, that's what Hogan is doing now. Shame. He could be a great coach off screen to the guys who have limited in ring skills.

Hulk Hogan is now apart of TNA wrestling. He has been there since January.
