Stuck on Airport

I am sorry to hear that .
it is painful
I never encountered it .
But I meeted that the train was late in summer . Lots of people crowed in the waiting room.
It was painful for me

Luckily for me, I've never had to deal with a flight being canceled overnight before. The longest time for me was six hours. The plane landed in Taipei at nine in the morning but we had to wait until three in the afternoon to take off again because of the really thick fog. Everything was okay in the beginning because my sister and I wandered around the airport looking in the shops and such but it got boring really fast after that.

But to your question, yes I've had to wait before. It was during one of our family trips to visit friends during our Christmas break. On the way back home, the highway was closed due to the snow. The sad part was that we were only over an hour away from home. They wouldn't even let cars with chains or 4-wheel drive cars through because the weather was so bad. So, we were stuck in the town overnight until the weather let up a bit.

I guess this time i should prepare for a pillow just in case such thing would happen to me where were you planning to go? that's what happens with planes if it's get into trouble, canceled flights are way better than plane crash, you do get to sleep on that, permanently

I am very sorry to hear that you got stuck at the airport all night. In my younger days I happily slept on the airport floor in my sleeping bag so I was ready to check in at 4am. These days I live further away from the main airports and I travel with two young children. My toddler son is disabled and my daughter is a baby.

When I was 14 years old our homeward flight was delayed. We had to spend all night at crowded Athens Airport. On my last trip I was pregnant and we had spent four hours traveling to the airport. Our flight was meant to be at 19.00 but due to fog it was delayed for 5 hours. The flight finally left at 01.00 the next day. My son was so very well behaved on the flight.

I shall be flying to Vancouver with my toddler son and my baby daughter this year.

oh my gosh, I am really sorry to hear that. I would have been bored silly if I was in your position. with my short attention span, I probably would have gone nuts. thankfully, I have not been in that situation just yet. take care though, just try to amuse yourself.

fortunately, i never have to experience this before... i thought if the airline cancel the flight due to some reasons, they have to provide accommodation in a hotel for the passengers plus meal as a compensation... they can't just let the passengers to be stranded in the airport overnight just like that... that doesn't sound right to me... anyway, glad to hear that everything is alright with you... take care and have a nice day...

I have experienced such a situation not at an international airport but at a local railway station. The train which was scheduled to arrive at 7:00 PM arrived at the correct time, but when it was about to leave the station, it derailed and stopped.
Nothing to be worried as only the engines one wheel derailed and rest of the train remained intact. Thank god! all passengers were safely rescued and the drivers miraculously escaped with minor injouries.
We had to wait all night till the Heavy Crane came to lift up the engine and a new engine was placed and the train took off. And I started towards my destination at 7:00 PM the next morning - which is time time by which I should have reached my destination. Luckily the railways department had allowed all of the passengers inside the coaches, because of which I had no problem in the night. Thanks to railways and thanks to God.

Sorry, it is painful to have that kind of situation. We have to avoid it as necessary so that we cannot experience it.

I am sorry to learn of your recent plight with delayed flights and I am a little surprise that you have to spend the night in the airport terminal.

Is this a low cost airline flight?

If not, you would have been attended by the ground attendants where meals and refreshments will be provided for, for a start. And if the delay were to be extensive, a hotel accommodation with transfers both ways included - even if you are a local at check in.

I hope that the delay did not spoil your trip and if it did you may want to consider claiming from your travel insurance.
