Will England take advantage from unsuccessful Champion league season?

Since all England players play their trade in English Premier League (except for Beckham - he would not play at World Cup anyway), it would be an good news for England FA that there is no England players play at Champion League anymore (even though they would never admitted it). Almost half of the England squad are contributed by Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool. In this case, Liverpool are out because they still compete in Europa League.

And extra rest after a long tiring season would be a bonus to the players before they join England squad preparation and then participate at the World Cup in South Africa. They can spend more time with their family and for those who are injured, they can get proper treatment without being rush to played. Tiredness after playing a long season without a break usually the reason for England players can not perform like what they did to their clubs.

As for the chances to winning the World Cup for the second time, it would be a tall order. But it is achievable target especially if they can get a desirable draw at then knockout stages. I did not see them have a problem to progress or even topped their group.

In honesty i don't think the English clubs' exit will make any obvious difference to World Cup chances, other than being one less game to worry about Rooney getting injured.

The team have a decent enough record under Capello, though there are a few shakes and wobbles when certain players are not involved and the frequent rotation of certain players and positions are natural when drawing together a squad who dont usually play together. There is only so much you can do in training to prepare. There are a number of players expected to be in the squad who have either been in and out through injury or simply had very little pitch-time as subs etc. Ultimately it will be down to whether the players can gel as a unit on the field in a competitive match, not how much of a break they have or what they do on the raining pitch.

It's definitely an advantage to england when it comes to the world cup because their players has got more time to rest... However, that's not a certainty too, for all over the world, there are some other leagues in the world cup countries, already concluded and they have even much more time to rest.. haha =D

Alot depends on the world cup month itself.. NO matter how much of rest and preparation each country has, everything can be undone by injuries and illness at the crucial moments.. haha =D
