The advantage of responding to ignored discussion  

all people should understand that if they disagree to a certain topic and its not created as a debate or if its something you are not interested about, dont respond, You will end up being ranked negative. Go to discussions were you know your response will be ranked positive.

There's a thin line between a discussion and a debate. More often a good discussion turn into debates. There's always a way to give a differing opinion to a discussion in a nice way. In a discussion, you can always give your own opinion but the discussions remains healthy. However, there are members who give a negative rating just because you don't agree to what they're saying.

Thats why its better to stay safe than trying to oppose someone. If I have a discussion that i know someone will oppose me, I put disclaimers to make sure no opposition will post. In discussions where I want a debate, I dont put disclaimers.As much as possible I avoid debates because they lead to flamewars.

I already learned from those discussions from those people who dont respond back, and for me I wont make a response if I know that person wont make a response, Thats why I usually target unresponded discussions but I dont search for them in Unresponded discussions, I look for them in categories of my interest. Because the No response topic search of mylot was bombarded by earn online topics.

I rarely find a discussion without response when I look from interest section except at the soccer interest. I prefer to look at the similar discussion (on the right side of tread board -------->) but all of it has been responded.

I know all decent unresponded and ignored discussions were covered by gazillions of earn online topics but I was able to find the ones that really interest me.

I got a loyal follower after responding to a struggling discussion and its worth it. Its much better than being ignored on a 7 page discussion with an overwhelmed thread starter,

because you get the author's attention since you were alone, you can make a long chain discussion that would be beneficial for both parties. Yup zero reply discussions earns nothing.

actually that has happened to me too in many occassions. but not this past few months. if the answer is good enough and there hasn't been a responder in days, there's no doubt that the person will also give you a BR even if you're the only responder.

If you were able to satisfy their needs even if you are the only responder then that would make you gain a best response.

yes albert we can make a long chain of discussion if we are the sole responder but that is if both parties do have something to talk about, jumping from one topic to another...and also if both parties get interested on what each other is saying...

We were actually successful in that department. Thread starters should have the conscience to respond back to people ho just gave them credits.

oops, My bad . This response was supposed to be for Adalie. I think this post influenced a lot of people to search for decent unresponded discussions and I'm happy with the result.

Try sending Pm's to friends of your friend list that you know you who will help you but dont do that to the same person all the time or they will remove you from their friend list. Study who will be annoyed and who wont be.

You should check the activity of the author 1st, Those people who dont respond back wont help you prosper.

Imagine people voluntarily giving me the [+] but I know somewhere out there a bitter old troll was working on pulling me down. I also think being ranked number 1 in certain categories also raises rank.

Yeah, maybe so... I just know that someone ranked me - because he though that I meant to be mean when I wasn't

When I corrected that I hadn't said it wrong, or been mean, then he was sorry, but the minuses are still there and now I have only a 8 (I had a 9 at first)

I'm one of those people who responds back with the best of my ability to the responses I get but In my case(Unless its gonna be from you know who), I will only participate to a gazillion page discussion if I know the reputation of the person is the type who respond back, I analyze it page by page before trying since I dont want my post goes to waste, I'm more successful with those ignored treasures though. I was able to find great friends from those.

Those who are not commenting back will soon get fewer and fewer responses and then they just might stop and think about what they are doing (or not doing) wrong. Maybe they will alter their bad habits too

Thats why lots of them ends up as participators since they dont kno ho to ork as a thread starter.

Absolutely! They have a responsability when they start a discussion.

I need a new W key so bad, I was using a virtual keyboard to solve my w needs and its a struggle.Is there a way to turn a key I dont use into W?

First of all, you may need to clean your keyboard. Secondly , try using VV or vv in the meantime.

I just find it useless though to respond to a discussion were you will just get ignored, I dont like it at all. Participation will only earn with a rank positive and a respond. I dont really participate on those discussion were the author was not responding back because i dont want effort to be wasted. But thats your thing and you can keep doing it if that works for you.

Having a lot of comments or responses does not mean you would be most like be ignored. It really depends on the starter and the discussion too.

Take for example what happened to me today, I responded to a discussion under MyLot category and my response was the 97th item. I was glad that after 9 hours my response was chosen as the best response and did receive a comment. But I had these response from a discussion and no feedback at all and I was the only one that responded to that discussion.

So i see through these situation that it depends on the author if he would respond or not and the topic itself. And discussions that are on top have reasons why the are on top, it was either the discussion really is a good one or the responses it gets elicit more response or controversial. The comment you get mostly would come to the starter but there are times that you get that from fellow respondents and when you do get that (comments) from other respondent then it tells you you have either responded very well or you are being criticized or warned.

Answering to no response discussion has its advantages but also has its disadvantages just to be fair.

I experienced more advantage though, I as more ignored with hot topics.

PM your friends and ask them for help, it works for me during my struggling days. Now my bigger problem was responding back to gazillions of responds but I actually like it since the results were worth it. I dont ant to lose people, so I always try responding back.

I tried asking admins to delete my unresponded threads sometimes, so i can repost them and the repost have lots of replies.

I wouldn't worry too much albert. I too have discussions that have never been responded to . Perhaps I was having an "off day" and just making stupid comments or whatever. Late night idiot thoughts . lol. But it would be nice if at least ONE person would respond to my mania and I'm sure they would get a BR and I could also clear my "unresolved" .

12 in the midnight, eastern time is the best time to create discussions, I get responses during those times.

I'll try that if I'm awake. lol.
I have weird sleeping habits so that might work.
Right now I just stopped by as I have a drywall and painting project I'm working on. My dinning room. OMG ..The job itself would be no problem it's the moving everything around that's killing me. Curtains down , pictures, furniture.
Oh well, life goes on.

I really dont know why people were active during those times but its really the best time to make threads and do participation in other people's discussion. Mylot was very active during those times.
