I am so desperate...  

I just saw a story about this on the news; they said it's the worst air traffic hold-up since September 11.
I'm so sorry to hear that you're travel has been affected by this. I don't get to travel often but I LOVE it when I do, I couldn't imagine how sad I'd be if something like this happened when I was going somewhere.
I also heard there are soooo many people stuck away from home and having to spend tons of money for extra hotel nights and food because of this whole ordeal.

Well, according to the news in Ebgland you should be fine to travel on Friday. However if you are concerned speak to the people you booked your flight with and ask them if it would be better for you to rearrange your plans.

We too are planning to travel. We wanted to go to china for the first time we have been married to visit my husband's family. Its on the 28th of april, so I am really worried. I was looking forward to it...and got real excited already...hope everything works out...

I can understand your despair, the situation is really annoying but it is beyond our control. We don’t have any control in nature so we have to face the situation more patiently, though it is frustrating. Here in our place I have never heard about this kind of problem and flight services are disturbing when there is heavy fog otherwise everything is alright. Hope the situation will improve soon and you will be able to visit the place at the earliest. Best of luck

My husband and I laughed and said that we picked a good month to be out of money, so we can't afford to travel. However, I do have a friend who likes to fly to Germany in april of every year, as he has family over there, and I am wondering if he will be able to go, but I am not sure. I hope all goes well for him, and it clears up before his trip is planned. If I wanted to go visit family and friends in Denmark, or they wanted to come here, we would be affected.

I have been to Iceland. I was there briefly on my way to Denmark, once.

And my husband and I have always wanted to go to Serbia, and Croatia. We can't afford it now, but last week, we went to a Croatian concert, and a Serbian restaurant. LOL Actually, two Serbian restauran. One in the evening, and one the next morning, as we stayed in the city overnight. LOL

So it doesn't really affect us, but it could.

I hope you get to take your vacation soon. What part of the USA do you wish to see?

And how about Canada? I live in Canada, and this is a beautiful country.

The volcano isn't affecting me right now. I'm terribly sorry about what's going on. I hope everything works out in your favor. The fact that the volcano has stopped erupting is a good sign. Maybe it will clear out?

Short of another volcanic eruption, I see clear skies by the time of your honeymoon trip. So just keep your fingers crossed and seek if the airlines will have an alternative flight route before your day of departure.

Fortunately, for me my schedule to visit Europe will not happen these few days till June. I hope that the skies will clear up soon, so that the stranded could return to their countries and homes.

sorry to hear that, its really bad, i been watching the TV in that they showed all flights cancelled due to huge ash cloud from the volcano, and they completely stopped the moment as it will get cancelled prolong till things become under control. I wish things improve fast and all clouds disappear so that you can go ahead with vacation plans..

Well, I live in Florida-no volcano here :) LOL! Anyway, the news headline on yahoo says more volcanoes will be in the future due to Icleand's ice caps melting.

Yes, that is very sad. My mother is in France/Germany right now and she can't fly back home to Finland

Last time I talked to her, she was renting/buying a car for driving it to Finland

I definitely want that ash cloud to disappear...
