we're all free to do what we want but sometimes we don't know if others view us as having the right to even wear what we want. take the (shallow
) case of dressing.
a) tank tops or any sleeveless top - some women just have dark underarms that only a husband (who cannot take her back) should see. on the other hand some arms are so flabby that you'd just wish the wearer just opted for an all cotton shirt for the same ease and comfort.
racial issues aside, am asian, but only caucasians with naturally blond or red hair have skin so light (that extends from the underarms to the skin at the side of the breasts) look good in sleeveles tops. brunettes (even if they are caucasians) and all races have darker skin in that area no matter how white their underarms are. see photos of celebs that have dark hair and you'd see what i mean if you compare their skin on this part to that of natural blonds and redheads. that's the reason for their poses. am not saying don't wear sleeveless tops if you have dark hair. am only saying something that many people are not aware of and can't pinpoint why others look darn good in sleeveless tops than they do. again, it is the skin's tendency to darken in this area am talking about and not any presence of any hair.
b) tight fitting jeans - if you plan to wear tight jeans there should be no bulges on your body even if you are naked. know your body type and stick to jeans that work for you. you'd look better. and don't forget that tunic shirts look better on almost everyone since not all are gifted with good butts and shouldn't be all out there in a jeans' glory to be a distressing surprise to everyone who would see.
c) short skirts or shorts - ever been aware that all women are cellulite prone? only tweens can get away with this and gain admiration from knowing, educated eyes.
d) tight fitting tops - brands that you wore in high school may not be the same band for you know even if it is in xl. some brands cater for teens and even if they have large sizes the tummy area and arm area are always in a teen's body shape. change your clothes' brand and who knows? yours maybe a mature brand but it'll come as medium in that brand. as we get old sagging arms and sagging stomachs are things we have to hide. women do have fuller, richer and more beautiful bodies (even if they are slim) and have to be put in real women's clothes.

I laughed when I read your discussion on underarms. But I realize you're right, we Asians and those of African race tend to have darker underarms. Like you it bothers me when women with dark underarms walk around in tank tops. Then they have the gall to raise their arms, whoaa, slow down girl. But I have some Asian women who look good in tank tops.

. that's exactly the point. so few know that tank tops are a little bit off limits specially in public places
. whenever i encounter someone on the unfortunate side of this situation i feel like i would hyperventilate

Thanx for this one. Be sure that from now on, every south african women will know of these little pointers. It is hairraising to see this among women. And the worst part is the cloths. The bigger you are the smaller your clothes need to be. And don't get me started on the hair. GGRROOSSEE.

thank you for responding. it is one of those things that i wonder why no one ever dared to write or discuss about. seems like it might offend a lot of women but little things like these need to be shared. it seems like someone just needs to bite the bullet and say it for the sake of those who choose not to see and not to accept. peace

Oh tell me about it, women these days should have a fashion subject in school because most think that since their favorite actresses wear such, they could freely wear them too.
Worst, people don't really tell you outright that you don't look good in your outfit, instead they talk behind your back, so you're the last one to know.

its always better to cover the body as much as possible/ To expose the body in the name of fashion is not acceptable. it could be true that certain dress suit certain people but still to expose skin is not good. It invites unwanted attention. the more we cover the more enticing it is for men

Hi
You are so much worried about Asians wearing tight cloths. Have you never seen women from other countries who without the age bar wearies small skirts and T-shirts. (Queen elizabeth too).
I am not blaming your views. Its correct in some social cultures. Wearing of dress differs in different culture. In some society no one think it as bad, or vulgar if some one wears low necked, or tight dress.
Apart from our comfort our dresses must be pleasing to others also. I admit it.
