Since he is a stray, he may not be willing to change neighborhoods...I'll have to keep him inside for a few weeks, and then let him out and see what happens...

It's something I had been wanting to do for a while, but just finally got off my a$$ and did...

A real house is going to rock Lamb, let me tell you after that camper..I lived in a camper too for a long many months..it was like strange going into a real building with walls LOL

I'll continue living there and just have to pay the utilities and possibly the property taxes. It's my Dad's house, but he hasn't stayed there for about 5 years, it's been sitting empty and neglected. I had a talk with him Saturday, and he is agreeable to the offer I made.

There are several pieces of ratty looking old furniture I need to move out (he just threw them in the bedrooms instead of having them hauled off) and there really hasn't been a thorough cleaning of the entire house for a long time...my brother Jeff's old bedroom is still messed up from when he moved out 20 years ago...some of the drywall needs replaced where cats shredded it sharpening their claws...but it's nothing I can't do, and am more than happy to do just to have my own place...

He'd be too lazy to drive himself across town...

Sweetie, don't bet on it. He might be too lazy to drive, but when hunger strikes, what do you think will happen?? TATA.

Carmel is the neighborhood stray cat I have been feeding for quite some time.

I saw the pic you posted (after I answered). I think he'll be amenable.

I think you will definitely have your hands full if you try to take over where Bob leaves off, but I am sure that you are up for the task. If you need some help, though, let me know. I don't think anybody wants our Lamb to go into withdrawl or feel unloved or anything.

Ooops, the "evil grin" after the devil didn't show up, so I feel the need to add it now ... it just doesn't have quite the same effect without it, in my opinion.

Honestly PA, I think Lamb likes Bob a lot! If he never did, he would have given him a piece of his mind ages ago. Our Lamby is not really good at keeping his opinion to himself, is he?

Hey Lamb - just an after thought - we follow Vasthu out here.

Can you follow these few principles in your house?

Entrance - North / North East / East
Bathrooms - anywhere but in above three.
Water drainage - North west
Kitchen - South East
Bedroom (master) - South West

No cut in South East direction - not good at expressing this one. :( What I meant to say is there should be no setback here to get a sitout or something - pillars should form a square or rectangle building. If you really can avoid this one, you will be bringing down expenses and keeping good health. Strictly no entrance in South East. This compounds financial problems and health problems.

South west should be the heaviest room so keep all your heavy books and stuff there. :) No pool there, no well there Ok? Well and pool - North East. Stove faces east in south east kitchen.

I know since the house is already built it will be difficult to follow these principles. But if you are likely to build or demolish something can you keep this in mind?

North entrance peace giver, North east peace, wealth, and justice, east just wealth
South east kitchen confines anger to a small part of your life. Just trust me as an elder person and follow these if you can. BTW if you cannot do much about kitchen, at least try to keep microwave somewhere in the direction mentioned.

Forgot to mention, Southwest should be the highest point as well. You could put your cable antennae there.

And how often do you squeal PA?

Now that I have read the rest of your discussion - Congratulations on the new residence! I am sure that the adjustment will take a little time for both you and Carmel, but I am also sure that you both will be a lot happier there. I think that keeping him inside for a little while is a good idea, though, just so that he really understands that it is a permanent move and not just a temporary adventure.
