Poor me! My left hand is chilblained!  |

|  Today when i got up a part of my ring finger of the left hand was painful and itchy. I looked it carefully and found it is chilblain! i was so surprised that i had chilblains at such time. I have had chilblains in chilly winter but its middle spring now and it should have been warm.
I think it was hurt yesterday. It was cold, cloudy and windy while i did not wear too much. You see, it changes so much and i could not tell which day is warm and which day is cold, even the weather report doesn not work sometimes.
You ever had chilblains? How do you make it recovered?

| |  O'K, just what is chilblains? I have never heard the term before. Is it something like it is "asleep" or something? A part of the body like a hand or leg or arm or finger feels asleep when it feels numb or prickly and painful. However, it does not require cold weather; it happens because the blood circulation has been cutoff or slowed to that part of the body. So is chilblains something similar or something completely different?

| |  I didn't know what chilblains is but I googled it and no I have never experienced this. My sisters use to deal with problems with their fingers but it was due to the detergent soap that they were using. We have never had a problem due to the cold weather. I hope it gets better soon.

| | i guess your living place is a warm place. As for mine, we have sharp weathers here: in spring and fall it is okay but in winter its so cold while in summer its so hot. I dislike winter and summer but i dont have choice...as it is getting warm i will be okay.

| |  Chillbains are caused as your skin reacts to cold. They are common. They usually heal themselves. You could keep them warm and dry. You can also get chillblains by warming up to quick. For example if you have cold hands and you put your hands on a hot water bottle or immerse them into hot water. Due to the quickness of the warmth this can also cause chillblains. I have never had them. I have had patients with them though. Dont pick at them. They will go away without scars. Get well soon friend. dl

| |  The only time that I get cold fingers is when I stand outside too long when it is like in the 20s for the temperature. Other than that, I don't get frostbite that often.
