Anyone know where tape recorders are still sold? My daughter has looked for one  

You're talking ancient technology here! lol. Honestly though. I think the only type of tape recorders that are still being made are those micro, handheld ones. The last one I bought I got from Radio Shack. I don't think you'll find a full sized one.

Here in our country Philippines in my hometown, I still find it in some old stores we have here. But they only used the micro tapes and I am not sure if that is convertible to the disc.

You should look on Amazon for conventional tape recorders. Office supply stores like Office Max have recorders but they are no longer big objects, they've been scaled down to fit in a pocket. Call around, I'll bet you can find one because people still use them in offices.

Its very hard now a days to find this kind of technology. I know my parents have a very very old one. It broke years back yet noone knows how to fix it. You will not find any brand new ones around.

I know that if you are in the United States area you should check out Radio Shack. I do know they have the very small hand held tape recorders that use the micro sized tapes as I purchased one a couple of years ago. I was in Radio Shack a few weeks ago for a battery and they were still there............Wal Mart also has those small ones too. Good luck.

Hello lotterylover. Although tape-recorders are that commonly used, they are still seen in shops. They are not totally out of date. I still remember my first tape recorder bought for me by my father in the eighties. Later I sent it to one of my students. Now I use MP3/5 player with a tiny stereo for teaching Listening material in my class in most cases though I have a tape recorder.
