I've never gotten into any of the Law & Orders, but my client has.

I did think that Jeff Goldblum was an interesting choice for a show like Law & Order, because I do remember him doing comedy. But even then I thought he was a good enough actor to do a serious show.

USA responsible for this. Their slogan is "character welcome". USA felt that Jeff Goldblum fit in better with that slogan than Vincent D'Onofrio, though it's hard for me to figure how the quirky Goren was not a character. Here perhaps the producer is also to blame. With time I think Goren became a bit darker as a character and that was definitely exploited in final two shows. Goldblum, being more light hearted, fit in with the image USA wanted. Of course, is WWE Raw light hearted? I tink not. I will miss D'Onofrio on this show. He is a great (and quirky) actor who made the show. Chris Noth was acceptable as an alternate because of his L & O past but I don't think he could have carried CI in the early years the way D'Onofrio did.

Here in Canada we finally got the first episode of this season this past Sunday. The commercials were showing and I was so excited to see that it was coming back on the air... and two episodes in one night! Yay! The "to be continued" was shown the same night. But then, wham! All the characters were 'removed' from the show - the captain was killed, Goren was fired and Eames quit. That really gets my goat.

When they started alternating episodes between Eames & Goren, and Chris Noth's character, I was a bit peeved. I love Eames and Goren. I didn't care if I missed that alternating week. Now to have them all gone!? I doubt I will even watch the show anymore. I think they are in big trouble over there at Law & Order. The original series is gone now and I think this one won't be far behind. I know SVU will be around for awhile as it is liked the most out of the three shows... unless they get rid of Olivia and Elliott, then that show will follow the others right off the air.
