had a poker staff tournament goin on at work...  

and was able to finish 16th in a field of 100.

everyone started with $2500 worth of chips. the group was a mix of really good poker players, almost professional ones who have been doing this for a good 10 years already, and novice poker players. i would consider myself a casual poker player. just took it seriously august last year. i'm looking to joining live tournaments and online tourneys as well to have some fun and take home some profit. i was part of a really strong table. the top two finishers came from our table. no one in our table was getting knocked out and i managed to get into the final four tables. i thought i had a chance to join the final table. got a little greedy. had pair queens. flop was AKJ. i bet small. everyone else did. flop was a 9. i raised. everyone else folds but this one guy goes all in. i was hoping the river would deliver a 10 for a straight or at least another Q for trips. i call the bet and go all in myself. felt that my pair queens was good enough. river was a 2. the guy i went up against had AK. lol! that was the end of the night for me.

looking forward to another tournament two weeks from now. spending my free time divided between mylotting and playing poker online to practice. looking at a field of at least 100. maybe 150 or more. would really like to finish higher than 16 this time. wish me luck everyone. if you have pointers or similar experiences, feel free to share them.
