Should I go to the police station to put in a report? |
| |
| My daughter and I were walking across the street. I heard a person say something that sounded like is that that bitc* sharon. But it was a girl calling to a boy in my building is that that bitc* arron. So I not knowing said I was going across that street in my bright red tights. We laughed as It was so funny what I was wearing. So arron started to curse me out. I said to him we were not laughing at him and he then continued so my daughter said don't you be disrespecting my mother you fa.get. he dropped his things and walked towards her and swung and missed. She swung back and busted his lip. I went to his mother who lives in my building on my floor. She did not come to the door. she is the one who is loaded down with all the crime and drugs in her apartment. While I am the one who would talk things out. I want to go to the police to have it on record being my other neighbor said to me that kenya has some girl coming to fight my daughter. And for me to watch out because they don't fight fair. My daughter already has two slices across her face I don't want any more problems. This is one time my daughter was in the right and I don't know what to do. We live in the heart of the hood so I don't have to tell you what is going to go on in my building. all of her friends went to school with me so I know them. I don't know her and was told she knows me. | | | | | |

| | That is just awful. I'd say make a report, if you don't think it will cause your daughter more trouble. I don't think having it on record is a bad thing. Just be careful. These days anything can happen, and does. | | | | | | |

| | It will cause me more trouble being the house is not one that wants police attention drawn to it. I am leaving in a few months to move out of state. I will need to have something on record just so when it does blow up I will have had gone for help. I know what is going to happen to me. I may get jumped in my stair well or the hall way. But,I have to show my daughter the right way to do things. If the police can help me leave the state faster that would be nice. But I am stuck now with these gang members living doors away from me. bad enough they smoke their mess in front of my door. Now this... | | | |

| | What a difficult decission you have as it sounds like a nightmare place to live but you have to do whatever you feel comfortable doing and if it gives you piece of mind that you have told the police then do so however the trouble with these days are how serious do the police take stuff? and will it make things alot worse for you if you say something? if the answer is yes then maybe it is better to leave it as the police can only protect you and your family so much and how much harm could come to you is a important question. | | | | | | |

| | I think I will get hurt in the long run. But the message I have to send my daughter comes first. I am going to see if they can help me move faster out of this place. These kids don't fight fair because the parents don't fight fair. I know the people who be in her house. The are all the kinds of people who I could never call friends. If you don't get high your the odd one out. | | | |

| | That's a tough situation. If everyone knows everyone, and they found out you put in a police report, you could face repercussions. Example, my older sister was being abused by her boyfriend for 14 years. Every time she filed a police report and tried to leave, he'd find her and beat her for it. Until finally the police provided the proper protection and helped her go somewhere safe. The sad thing is that sometimes the police can't or won't help. Personally, I'd file a report. Just so it's on record. In case anything worse happens, you can say you reported it once. Because usually the cops ask "well why didn't you say anything before now?" Besides, sitting there hiding pretending nothing happened won't help as these don't sound like nice guys. Maybe see if there's anything the police can do for your daughter. Can they protect her? Can they make sure she's anonymous in the report? Ect. Keep us updated on the situation. I hope things work out. | | | | | | |

| | I know just want could happen to me with this situation. I am just scared for what my daughter might see happen to me for being labeled a snitch. In this area it is not the best thing for me. But,I am one who believes in doing what is right for my daughter. If I don't show her how to help herself who will.. I am stuck with this one. The mother is home and has yet to come here being she knows what she is planning to do to my daughter and me. I just was in the hallway and tasha went over to her house and she opened the door. | | | |

| | I would highly recommend you call the police on this one. You should have to live in fear that something might happen. This kind of things shouldnt happen but sadly it does. I would get it into writing so if something does happen they dont pin it on you or your daughter. | | | | | | |

| | this is just what I was thinking as well. Being we did not make a report the last time when she was sliced it looked bad on us. Now I don't want this to happen again. I have to wait for her to get home and see how she feels about this. I am ready to go now as you are 100% right here. Thanks for this. | | | |

| | If threats were made and warnings were issued then I would go forward to report since this act of violence is the making. Cover yourself at all times. If you are in real danger express that and see what alternative they have for you. If I remember right, you r daughter is pregnant right? That right there, would mean she is off limits or the punishment for the crime will be double. But what ever the case may be you need to protect yourself and your child. Good luck. | | | | | | |

| | My daughter is no longer pregnant. I posted this a few days back. I am so glad this is not the case I would really be afraid. My daughter is out there with her friend and anything could have happened to her. I have no money to pay the cell phone so I can't call her. Oh boy.. | | | |

| | Since your daughter was activly fighting, despite weather or not she was in the right, she would probably be the one in trouble. You are more then welcome to seak legal advice, but understand your daughter could be arrested, or a person of interested while all of this is streightened out. Ask yourself, do you feel its the right thing to do? | | | | | | |

| | Go ahead and report the whole incident to the cops. Don't leave anything out if something happens then there is a record of your daughter having issues with this boy. If there is a next time maybe just walking away instead of calling him names would cause less friction. | | | | | | |
