Earth day has just passed and as someone I knew threw some litter on the ground shortly after I told them to pick it up. They said it was paper so it was okay. But to me this dosnt make snese, why then do we recycle paper?
Unless we recycle it, is it really eco-friendly?

First of all, the production of paper is not eco-friendly. It requires a lot of trees, a lot of water, a lot of energy, and the bleaching process to make the paper white usually uses harmful chemicals.
Some of the chemicals used in the production process may still be present in the paper, so even though the paper may break down in the environment, it will also release those harmful chemicals. So no, it isn't eco-friendly to throw paper on the ground, and it also makes the space look trashy. Recycling the paper is a much better option.
If you look around, you can probably find paper that is already made from recycled materials. This is great, because it doesn't require cutting down any new trees, and it keeps the materials it's made out of from taking up space in landfills. Your friend's piece of paper that they threw on the ground could have been better put to use in making new, recycled paper.

While being paper, I suppose some might think it's eco friendly, but actually the inks and colorings in it isn't. It's not eco friendly unless it is properly recycled and the inks removed. When somebody throws something down on the ground, it doesn't matter if it's eco friendly or not, it's trash and should be disposed of properly. Otherwise they're just a litterbug who's too lazy to do the right thing.
Side note here lol. I live in the country, and in the spring I go around the ditches across my property lines and I usually get a whole garbage bag full of paper trash. I usually do this a few times throughout the spring to fall period. McDonald's wrappers, paper boxes, all kinds of paper stuff, you name it, it's there. While the people who dumped it out their window may think that's eco friendly, it still looks like heck and it would take a really long time to go back to nature. People who dump their trash in places other than proper disposal are thoughtless, lazy, and really could care less if it's eco or not.

Yeah it's eco-friendly because it is made from biodegradable materials. However, if you just throw it anywhere, it will carry diseases and would make any place look dirty. How'd you feel if a used tissue paper was just thrown anywhere? That's biodegradable.
However, we should also try to avoid using paper. It's from trees and we're lacking or have a short on trees. We use paper faster than trees grow and soon.

Hello
Compared to plastic paper are eco friendly. Comparing plastic plates and cups these paper cups and plastic are eco friendly. But the usage of paper should be limited because paper comes from trees and this indirectly affects the eco system. So go green and limited the paper usage.
Cheers

Papers are not eco-friendly. Cutting trees is bad. So we should try to make good use of our paper. So we don't need to cut more trees. If we can re-use it our paper please do. We need to save mother earth and with more trees we can make our world a better place.

Paper is Eco - friendly alright but that doesn't mean to say you can dump it anywhere. We recycle paper because paper is made from wood. And to produce more paper we have to fell more trees.Instead of destroying trees the idea is to recycle paper so that trees are protected. But just because paper is bio degradable doesn't mean to say we can litter allover the place.
