Special Train Coaches for Ladies? Is it Viable?  |

|  The Malaysian Railway Authority are starting a rail service this month with special pink coaches only for women or ladies. According to the authority, this will prevent untoward incident such as molestation.
Some feel this is a good move but others think it is silly because you may have empty lady coaches when the demand is great at different hours of the day.
To make matters worse, ladies can join male coaches but males cannot enter lady coaches!
So, what do you think of this so called inspiring idea from the bureaucrats?

Here in India we have sepcial coaches for ladies in the trains. I think its extremely important to have those to avoid disturbance and other controversies.
The thing which needs to be look out is how much u actually need. I remember once a train was introduced in peak hours only for ladies and it caused a lot of hue and cry and rightfully so. U cant create luxury for a small amount of people and cause trouble for thousands.

| |  We have a ladies section on all our local buses.Similarly there is a section for ladies on the trains.When i was a youngster and i would travel by bus i found that the ladies section in buses would invariably be occupied by gents.This would continue till there was a check by the inspectors and those infringing on this rule would be fined.Similarly there have been instances of gents getting into the ladies section in trains.Unless this rule is strictly followed its not enforceable.I don't think this rule is easily enforceable.

| |  well..i read n watched the new too.i think it is quite ok but the government also need to do the surveys about the numbers of women that uses the LRT daily or weekly.whether it is higher than the guys or lower.extra coaches wouldn't be a problem..the problem about the girls can join the male coaches also would be a proble because if it is packed with guys..somehow it will be a high probability to get molested..

That is good news. here in the philippines, there are coaches that are intended for female passengers within a train. the objective is the same as to what your authorities thought of. it's a good idea.

| | coaches for ladies in train is welcome. I think that general coach is more good than ladies coaches. Ladies coaches can reduce untoward incidents like molestation and other problems. not allow male to entry into ladies coaches. There another problems like robbery and other threats may be increase in ladies coaches.
