| Question bout Page Rank and Published Content  | | | |  I have a quick question. If I use Triond or Bukisa to publish an article that I also have on my blog, will it hurt my page rank? Will it be identified as duplicate content?

| |  Let me clear up this whole duplicate content penalty thing. Here's the so called penalty. If you have duplicate content out there Google will only rank one instance of that article. Which instance of that article is up to them. So it's not like Google "hurts" your site for it. It just may not rank your site for that given article and may decide to rank your article from the article directory instead.
My suggestion is to keep articles on your website unique from the stuff that is on the article directories. This way you have a chance of having your unique article from your blog rank and one of the duplicate articles from the article directories. You may end up with two articles ranking this way. So save your best stuff for your blog not the article directories.
Trust me I own two work at home websites that rank very well in google (top 10) because I understand SEO. There is a lot of misinformation out there. Don't blindly believe everything you may read. I hope this helps.

| | You're welcome. I think posting an excerpt or summary of the article on these article directories are fine. At the end of the day the goal of article marketing is to get traffic directly from these articles and indirectly via the backlinks (SEO). You always want to try to drive people back to your website where you can provide them as much value as possible. If you do, you'll build a great user base and some of those users will also link back to you.

| |  Since articles aim to create valuable and unique content and republishing them on various websites may cause a duplicate content issue, I personally think you should avoid republishing them on Bukisa or Triond.
Search Engines realize that that the article doesnt bring additionally new content. It is absolutely ok to republish parts of the article as quotes, reviews or samples on other websites, it happens in a natural way too. But publishing exactly the same article all over again on different websites is not the best solution.
Usually, bots take the first site that published an article as the main source of it, or sometimes the page with higher PR. However, problems might occur when analysing this duplicate content conflict between your websiteand Triond or Bukisa.
Either way one of the pages either your blog or Bukisa's would be excluded from the Search. You loose either way.
