| | I would suggest buying a Better Homes and Garden Basic Cookbook and following the instructions in it. It has a red and white checked cover and cost about $20. It will teach you every thing that you need to know. Better Homes and Garden have the very best of the cookbooks and are easy to follow and understand. Good luck to you in your new adventure. Cooking is a lot of fun. | | | | | | |

| | I think you could save a lot by doing your own cooking. I suggested the Better Homes and Garden because they have the recipes that are more from scratch. Pillsbury cookbooks use a lot of the Pillsbury prepackaged foods and they are expensive in my opinion. I quit buying them because I do more of the 'scratch' cooking. I like rice and have been buying the Knorr Rice. I added extra stuff to it but the packages are usually $1 here and is a great basic start, for my husband and I it will make 2 meals!!!! But we add other stuff too. Are you in college? | | | |

| | second year college this june. i am thinking to cook whatever available stuffs found near our school campus practically so there is no need for me to go to the nearby downtown just to buy those stuffs. i think that would be a wise idea too. about your suggestions, we'll try to have a search on it. i have my boardmate and i think it would be a nice idea if we share. | | | |

| | I agree with Christmas2006. Get a good, basic cookbook and follow the recipes carefully. You'll be cooking in no time. There are also some good recipe sites online. All About Cooking is a great site for beginners: http://www.all-about-cooking.com I have been cooking for years and I still learn things from that site. | | | | | | |
