What do you think of the new Jack in the Box logo??  |

|  For any of you fast food foodies that are familiar with Jack in the Box, what do you think of their new logo?

The old one is definitely outdated, but it sure goes with the outdated Jack in the Box guy whom they've never really updated (except to give him a corporate body and clothes). But I just don't "get" the new one. It looks like the bottom of a jack in the box toy, but I don't understand why they used those typefaces (typestyles) (I am talking as a graphic designer myself).
In other words, the update is "so what" to me. It just bugs me every time I drive by a Jack in the Box and see this sign. Although, not all of them have updated their signs yet. Do you like the new logo? What do you make of it? Or is it the designer in me that's just urked?

| |  While I will definitely agree with you that the original logo that you've shown is outdated, I honestly think that it is far better than the new one. It could be that the typeset that they've used is all wrong (which I think you are right on track with). But, I think more than that what bothers me about the new logo is it makes me feel like they need to rebrand the entire franchise. I associate the original logo with Jack In The Box, the new logo doesn't seem to say Jack in the Box to me.

I think you're so right . . . it is as if they are giving Jack In The Box an updated look just for the sake of "updating". I remember having that same feeling when they updated all the characters for the breakfast cereals we grew up with . . . characters like Tony the Tiger or that Lucky Charms leprechaun became 3-D . . . to me they didn't have the same charm as the original "flat" characters. | |  Hi. much2say. I like the new logo more better. It is very fancy and more elegant, compared to the older version of the Jack in the Box sign. We don't have a restaurant like this in the county that we live in. Maybe it is located in our capital city. I know that they have many diners there that they don't offer here where we live at.

Maybe I'm just set in my ways - hee hee. Really - no Jack in the Box out your way? Actually maybe that's a good thing . . . less fast food the better.
