How to choose unforgettable website name?  

DOMAIN NAMES ... it is all a hit-and-trial method. you are very right about google, yahoo, mylot, facebook, etc.

When did you learn about google? .. actually, it is derived from the name of a number. googole, it is some power of 10. a number.


SO, to make a unforgettable website, you need to work out the keywords, and start searching the existing websites, their google and alexa traffic ranking, etc.

but, I have tried another trick. Like, INDIA DOCTOR. .. by that you will understand that there is something related to medicine, and Indian country.

And, there is my new your online doctor .. it tell you about doctors, who help you online. And, since this is about information, i chose to buy dot info site.

similar site is family doctor online dot info....

The best thing to try is go to a seo site with free tools and find out the best keywords for your proposed site. Try then to incorporate one or two of them in your site name, it will help people find you on search engines and be easy to remember.

Yeah it is not very easy to get a good unforgettable name for your website, that hasn't been already taken. But it all depends on what kind of website you have to be honest? Take a keyword from the content, or the content's subject to make a name from it? What will be the content of the site? Maybe I can think up a couple of names :)

I would try to think of something that is simple to remember, maybe a minimum of 10 characters, and that I feel would go high with google page ranks etc. It'd be something important to me as well, maybe a combination of letters that when mixed around spells my husband's name.

I agree with a lot of the information you have recieved about web names, but have one more suggestion for grabbing an unforgettable website domain name. Explore all of the options now from beyond .com, .org, .us, .ca - I don't even know all of them, but your domain provider should have enough options.

We had a non-profit to name and the .com was taken for two years, we used .org and it has worked even better for us.

Explore that avenue of naming your website and domain and see what you find.

It is really very hard to choose names on internet, even it is also harder when you are creating your email account.
While you choose domain names you can use the name and a dash and your country name or city name which could make this easier to remember if your clients are no worldwide.

This is an issue I had with choosing my own website name. I'm still in the process with no names. I think the name should be right to point, short and unique.

A lot of the good domains have been taken. I just watch for trends and then combine 2 or 3 words together, sometimes using Wordtracker. I recently bought a couple domains - mobiappstore.com and shootshow.com based upon the above reasoning.

All names will become unforgetable, as time goes by.. haha =D When it's new, even a daily seen, name, will still be very forgettable.. lol =D UNless one has been hearing or using or seeing it for long period of time, only then it will be etched automatically in our mind, make it impossible to be erased..

If not, whatever easy or unforgetable name u give to your domain, but it's also being used for something, thus ple will tend to associate to that, but never your site ^_^

If you make the website something unforgettable and unique then many will remember it. I know if its common I wont remember it nor would I visit it again. Make it about what the site is about, also even a username.
