getting married  

Yes it's true people get married for different reasons and yes the bible does say that you become one flesh but...you still have to be individuals. Marriage is a very big, a very important step and should not be taken lightly. I've been married to my husband 25 years and we just had the honor and blessing of seeing our daughter marry the love of her life. Though she is only nineteen and he twenty they are so very happy and he does everything to make her happy. They fight constantly but in the end they remember they love each other. I've seen these fights and I've seen them get through them and let me tell you for a young age they have a very strong love.

i would like to get married but not for relgious reasons because i am not a church goer. I think that by getting married you are taking a step forward and saying to each other that you want to be with them and only them and showing your family and friends your commitment

For me, marriage is the formality of love. It is the highest point that a relationship could attain. Ideally, people get married because they love each other and see themselves starting and spending the rest of their lives with each other. In reality, marriages come for different reasons. Though a lot still get married because of their genuine love for their partners, some get married for convenience such as because of money and practicality. For some, there are also arranged marriages which is normally a result for more wealth, power, or influence. And lately, with the current liberated lifestyle of people, a lot, especially younger people, get married because of unwanted pregnancies. The definition of marriage have somehow been redefined now as it has become a mere union of two individuals and starting a new life of their own and it isn't necessary that love is present. Marriage is defined and seen differently by different religions but despite of such differences, they still share something in common and that is to love and respect one's spouse. As a Christian, I firmly believe that love should be present in marriage. Love is essential in creating a good, harmonious, and healthy family. One of the products of marriage is having a family and living a happy life, not necessarily living a convenient one. Such new marriage practices (arranged marriage, marriage for money, and even resulting from unwanted pregnancies) end up and results to not a fulfilling and happy life. If one aims to live a happy marriage and family, love should be present.

I agree with your post. If we marry with someone who we love, don't try to make she hurt, because our relationship will broke.
