pump bottle for dog shampoos |
| |
| How come you can't get dog shampoo in a pump bottle? Because think about it, most dogs, (at least the dogs I have) don't like baths. So you got one hand on the dog and need to put shampoo on them, what do you do? You remove your hand so you can pick up the bottle to pour the shampoo into your other hand..Guess what Fido is going to do now?? Yep, try to or even succeed in jumping out of the tub.. I realize this is not a good set up. so when I bought my dog shampoo, I took an empty pump bottle and poured the dog shampoo in it..Now when I give my puppies a bath, I can get the shampoo with one hand while the other is keeping the dog from jumping out. Though it may be possible to get dog shampoo in a pump bottle, I can't get it around here.. So if you struggle trying to get shampoo on your dog, get an empty pump bottle and see how much easier it is.. | | | | | |

| | My dog loves the bath so much we have to lock her out of the bathroom or she will jump in the tub. I don't see pumps on the shampoos either. | | | | | | |

| | You are fortunate gifts..The worst I had to deal with was the White German Shepherd. she was big and it took two of us to give her a bath... | | | |

| | There are some shampoos that have a pump. I am not sure exactly which brand but my mom always has one for our dogs at home and it helps so much when I wash the dogs. Also have you tried looking for a brand or asking a sales clerk at a pet store about it? maybe you can order a bottle then just refill it with whatever you want. | | | | | | |

| | Well I took an empty bottle of hand soap and rinsed it out and using it. so I can still buy the same shampoo that seems to also be helping in preventing fleas..:) | | | |

| | You can by the industrial size pet shampoo, like the groomers use with a pump but not many if any of the regular sized. It is a cost factor. If you think about it most human shampoo does not come in a pump bottle any more either. The cost of having the pump would increase the cost and it is a risk/reward that many manufacturers are not willing to take. So keep your pump bottle handy because it sure does sound like it is making your life much easier. | | | | | | |

| | You know,I do rarely see it in human shampoo anymore either...I kept mine that had shampoo in it and started using it for my conditioner..Now I am glad I did, makes it easier to use..:) | | | |

| | Hello Hatley...I actually got this idea because like I told the responder above you, I have a large pump bottle for my shampoo and when it was gone,I started refilling with my conditioner since I use it more. Then when I realized when I gave my puppies a bath, I needed one hand on the dog at all times or they would jump out..I remembered that I use one hand to get conditioner and got a recently emptied hand soap pump bottle and rinsed it out. I added the puppy shampoo and already gave them a bath twice without them jumping out..:) | | | |

| | I think that's a wonderful idea you should pass along to the companies that make puppy shampoo....When I had my dog I had the same problem....then there would be so much shampoo in one spot I had to rinse and rinse and another area wasn't getting enough! | | | | | | |

| | According to responder #3, it is a cost factor..I guess they use to, but don't anymore..I think it would be a good idea to sell the bottle in a pump and then provide a larger bottle of the same shampoo to refill the pump bottle with..But, I am not in the business, though if a dog site even wants my opinion, I will give them this idea..:) | | | |

| | I never really thought about it. But I don't have too much trouble. I hold my dog with one hand, and with the other I squeeze out the shampoo. But I bet it would sell well if some companies decided to try the pump with dog shampoo. Of course if I were bathing two dogs at once, I would be exasperated with no pump. | | | | | | |

| | I only do one dog at a time, but when I try to squeeze it out while holding the dog,I get too much shampoo in one area and then it takes longer to get it out..So I feel this is a waste, especially since my doggie bills are double..lol | | | |

| | I live in the central part of California. Outside of a small town called Paso Robles. During the spring and summer temperatures range from 80 to 115 degrees. It makes it so easy for bathing the dogs. During the winter it is too cold to think of dunking the dogs in the lake. Although it doesn't get that cold until January. We are really cold from January through March... | | | |

| | My dog shampoo is in a pump bottle. I brought it that way. I have to check out the store and see if there are many with a pump bottle or not. It makes it so much easier to shampoo having one hand available to pump and the other to hold him. I will keep this pump bottle in case I don't find the same shampoo again. | | | | | | |

| | What an interesting concept! it would certainly make it easier to bathe the dog. There's nothing less annoying than chasing a dog for a bath with a bottle of dog shampoo to apply. | | | | | | |
