The movie of the month of the star movies.. The Twilight..   

Honestly, I did not enjoy Twilight at all. I felt it was a really great concept with poor execution. The plot just seemed too rushed and the acting wasn't exactly believable...particularly on the part of the female lead. One day her character was claiming she could never see him again and the next how desperately in love she was and how much she missed him.

I have heard however that the second entry in the series is far superior to the first movie, but I have not seen it yet.

Feminists dislike Twilight because instead of a "heroine", the female protagonist is portrayed as a "damsel in distress". Isabella Swan is clumsy, so Stephanie Meyer used this characteristic to show us that Bella needs Edward Cullen beside her so she won't die. Obviously, the target audience of this saga are the hopeless romantic teenagers who thinks someone like Edward Cullen (minus the shimmers and the fangs, of course) is alive. They go attaching the surname Cullen to their first names as if they married the vampire. I'm not a feminist though, but I agree about the feminist view on Twilight.

People watch and read it because its popular. I've read all the books though. My writer friends find Meyer's writing style very simple but she knows where to tickle her target audiences. Her target audience, however, doesn't include my writer friends. The movies are boring. I find myself finishing the movies just to get over with them, also to find out why my friends giggle and scream about it.

I've seen Twilight, and I really loved it. I'm surprised you haven't heard much about it. It's all the rage here, which is kind of annoying to me...
I'm a big fan of the book series, and I saw the movie opening day. I like the movie, but the book was much better. The second movie in the Twilight Saga, New Moon, was a much better adaptation of the book and a much better film. I'm really looking forward to the third installment in the Saga that comes out this summer, and the adaptation of the fourth book (Breaking Dawn) because the fourth book was my favorite of the series.
