Tuti has gotten really bad about grabbing stuff too.

That's so cute and funny. I don't care how much those rascals are trained they can't be trusted around anything edible. It doesn't even have to be edible, if it's interesting to them and smells good, then watch out!

It's easier to train your daughter to put her dish up where the dog can't get it, than to train the dog out of her natural inclination to eat what's available.

That is too funny. I am sure this is not the first time this has happened, LOL. Your daughter is going to be very disappointed when she figures it out.

Oh I know that feeling..Twice now my puppies have gotten into something..This first was back around Passover, (about a week before Easter) and I had a plate full of matzo balls waiting to be cooked. It wasn't at the edge, but it wasn't pushed back all the way either and one was tall enough to reach the plate..

The second time was when my husband had a baked potato he pushed to the middle of the table to talk to me while I was outside about something..He comes back in and the potato was still there, but some potato crumbs went from the middle to the edge..Obviously one of the dogs got into it but he came back before she could eat it all..

I have kids that are like that!

I don't have any pets right now, but when I did that was a problem. With my mom's cat you cannot even leave a plate on the counter or he will be up there trying to get at it.

I couldnt help but laugh when I read your post. I wonder if she realized or not?. I wouldnt have told her and see if she realized. My dogs actually do this all the time. Except they are huskies so a big dog and cant hide easily. They always try to hide but never get away with it.

That brings back a few memories for me. My dog was an expert at swiping food when I was'nt looking. The funniest time was when I took a friend home, we had bought a takeaway pizza and was going to watch a film. Seconds in the door my friend asks me to show him my new hi-fi, so without thinking I put the pizza box down and go into another room.

You can guess what happens next..

On returning to the living room to enjoy pizza and movie my lovely dog was sitting in the corner (looking rather smug) and the pizza box was on the floor EMPTY.
To make it worse, he even managed to close the lid on the box, VERY SLY.

No Bonio for him that night.

Your story is too cute and I can just see the bowl, your little girls back and the dog having his way with the bowl :)

We've had quite a few pets and never have learned to teach them not to eat out of just a certain bowl. If it's left lying around they are going to eat.

I hope you told your little girl.
