Have you ever been dollars short on your rent?  

I know how you feel completely. Ive been short on my rent as well as medication before. You feel so sad and frustrated about it and try so hard to scrap the money up. Possible talking to your landlord about it? They may allow a little longer. I know mine does since I have a good history and basically dont blow the house up. Hopefully you put together the money by Monday.

Hope you can find the Money by then or maybe like Rickie below says the Landlord might be sensible about it and let you have a longer time period to pay it. After all this is a very common thing now all over the world all over the place. We are just making it by the scruffs of our neck too sometimes. People who live here too in this Doorway have problems like that just about making it to the end of the month to be able to pay their mortgage.

You are still lucky for having short only of$15.00 our rent is pass due one month already and I run out of my EI just my wife is working with minimum salary with two kids to support, Have been sending lots of job application but no one call, it's really hard for us right now. Recession stricken my family so hard.

Sorry to hear that I'd loan you the money if we lived closer. Many places have a paper you can sign that says you will pay the rest by a certain amount of days. Or you can just pay what you have and then they will give you a 3-5 day notice of eviction if you don't pay the rest, then you will at least have some time to get the extra money, though this could result in them charging you more. Sorry to hear you are having hard times, I know it can suck. I don't have a job and I live with my mum and when her job doesn't pay her correctly she ends up missing rent and this last time her job screwed with her pay check two weeks in a row and the apartments were sending us eviction papers saying they were going to forward stuff to the courts or whatever but my mum was able to pay the money. I hate not having money to help out and I hate that she isn't able to have more money.

I also experienced being short on the rental payment. My solution was to borrow from relatives and friends.

Yes, it has been times that we were. short on rent. But my husband always found a way to get us the rest of the money. At least you are only just, $15.00 short. I am sure that you will get this amount. Maybe you can contact your family to see if they can lend it to you. I hope that you will be able to get this amount.

I get paid on the last day of the month, and my husband gets paid on the first and third day of the next month. I paythe rent, since the amount I get in total is larger than the smaller payment Hubby gets on the first. He gets his larger payment on the third, but rent is due on the first. Sometimes I'll pay the rent and his portion of the bills all on the first to get everything out of the way at once, and on the first he'll give me a hundred bucks, and the rest on the third, so the bills will be paid up and we'll both have money. Occasionally I'll pay and be $29 or so short on the rent BUT Hubby will pit the cash in my bank account on the first, then take the check to the land lady on the way home, so she will get the check after the money has been deposited.

I have come close to being short on my rent but have somehow managed to get by for years now. I get scared because I have a daughter and I just can't be homeless. I would lose her and she is my world. I was homeless for an entire summer one time thanks to my ex confiscating the rent money and using it for drugs. I lucked out and found an apartment before school started or I would not have been able to register my daughter in a school and all of my kids would have been taken from me. Actually a worker from DCYF, unbeknown to me, watched me for an entire day with the kids in the woods and said that I was dealing well with the situation and she could tell the kids were loved and cared for. She kind of turned the other cheek thankfully. Gifts, there just has to be someone who can lend you 15.00 or 3 people that could lend you 5.00. OR...give your landlord all that you have and I am betting that he would wait on the 15.00. In the meantime be looking for all the help you can get from your city and state. I know you are a single mom so you must qualify for some help in that area.

I suggest that you talk to you landlord and tell him or her you are short but will get the money to him or her in a few days, that should help, if the landlord is a decent human being.

We've only had one time in the nearly two and a half years that we've owned our home that we have been short on our mortgage payment. So, what I did in this situation was I waited an extra few days until my husband got paid again and made our payment when he got paid again. The reason that I decided to do it this way instead of taking an overdraft on our checking account was because the late fee on our mortgage was less than an overdraft on the checking account.
