|  recently i watched a movie (40 days and 40 nights).in this movie a man take a vow that he will not do any sexual activity for 40 days.after watching the movie i wonder that does the celibacy has a any true power.many says that it will increase the strength of you and increase your concentration.Does anyone of you has any experience with this matter.then please share your experiences

Yes, it surely has a positive effect. Practicing celibacy for 40 days is really nothing big. People can practice it for months and even years. Some (including me) believe that desires and expectations are the prime source of all human sufferings. It is the desire that makes us vulnerable and dependent on our surroundings. Lust, when used in opposite sense of celibacy, generates desire. The natural of material pleasure is such that the desire for them increases the more you involve with it. I mean, fulfillment of pleasure never satisfies you, it only triggers more desire in your heart. If you get what you want, you feel elated, and if you don't, you feel depressed. In this way you become a slave of your desire. So the best way to earn freedom is by abandoning these desires. Abstinence of such kind is always good only if practiced sincerely. It gives you happiness beyond measure.

| |  pure celibacy can bring all the virtues..then eventually lead you to enlightment if you desire it. Remember Celibacy in though word and deed is the highest penance a man can do. If you succeed nothing in the world will be impossible for you. Please keep it up..I am trying my best too. I wasted alot of energy b4 and now i regret it. Trust me celibacy gives strength in all directions. Removes fear. Its inner science if you truly know. | |  I have experience this for two months and it worked so I think it is possible when we want to try it, but I should say that at that time me and my boyfriend were both really busy so we were engrossed in our work so much that we barely thought about that and we succeeded in abstaining from sexual intercourse.
