| |  As ajay said, it is a P2P thing. You can share and download music, movies, files,etc from it.
You have to be careful that you don't violate the copyright terms. If you share some copyrighted materials, you could go to jail and pay a huge fine, if you get caught. I have been using limewire for the past 2/3 years to download music and videos, but I hardly ever use it these days.

| |  Jopak and Neo are right. Downloading files with limewire is packed with lots of viruses. It was supposed to be a very useful software. You can download all kinds of files. But it is unreliable for each download you make you get not just one, but multiple viruses. I used limewire a few years ago. I decided to stop using it because of the viruses.
