| | Its not about love it is about the power. They want to rule the house. Some dads are very loving and caring. | | | | | | | niship2009 (657)

| | My Dad is not very loving, caring, and responsible Dad. I think he loved us, he still loves us, but he always wants everybody in the family to agree with his decision. He never discussion common family matters with the whole family. He made decisions on his own and forced people to go with that when I was a kid. He took so many decisions which I don't agree with him. But, he gave his daughters the freedom and power to take decisions when it came to decisions regarding our studies and marriage. That is great. Infact, I would say that my sister and I never allowed my father to take decisions when it was our personal matter. Even though my father had different intersts, we were able to express our interest and tell him openly that we want to take our life the way we want and go about with decisions which we think will work out well regarding our life. He was okay with that. We never took a decision that embarassed him or hurt him. We always considered his opinions as suggestions, but always decided according to our heart/mind. That is good. My father just crossed 60 years of age and even now he takes decisions on his own regarding family matters like selling land, taking loan, buying things at home, spening money, borrowing money, etc. I think my Mom kind of used to it. But, my sister and I won't let him decide our personal affairs and I think he undersands and agrees to that. When all of us meet at home for some occassion, my sister and I give good ideas to our father regarding family decisions, but he never pays attention. He wants to do what he thinks is right. But, that is okay till he is not forcing us to do anything. I'm sure that he loves both of us and my brother. I didn't mention much about my brother because he is only 16 years old and lives at home. Of course, my Dad encouraged him to take the subject he liked for higher secondary school. But, he is not that old to take decisions on his own. I'm sure that he loves all three of us a lot. He is just trying to be over-protective and take decisions which he thinks the best, but they are not the best always. But, it is okay since it is his life and he has all rights to take it the way he wants unless he doesn't hurt others. | | | | | | | niship2009 (657)

| | Hurting others! A big word in your post. My childhood has gone in seeing my father beating my mother until she cried and cried and cried. He never gave us money and freedom but he always treated other girls and boys with great freedom. My elder brother had poisoned himself because of this rude attitude of my father. He later on left the country and is not ready to return to India because my father had treated us very badly. My younger brother was lucky enough that he was not treated rudely by my mother or father both. We were victims and I suffered until death. This is my new life which I am living and I hate my father the most. | | | | | | | Ask a Lawyer: Child Law 12 Family Lawyers Are Online! Ask a Question, Get an Answer ASAP. | | Hi niship, That is very sad but I'm sure that you are not alone, so many fathers don't know how to love their children. Don't be too hard on him though as the chances are his father treated him the same way. We must learn love before we can be loving. Now that you understand it better, perhaps you will treat your child better. Both of my parents loved me very much and I had a great relationship with my father. I feel that I was a good father to my three children, at least they seem to think so. Blessings. | | | | | | | niship2009 (657)

| | there are three possibility why your father act like that. first he really a mad man and do not love their son/doughter. second, your father love you but do not know how to express his love. third, your father got same treatment from his father when he was a child. you must know the real reason first why he like that. than u can do a good reaction to him. hopefully the second reason is the reason why he treat you like that. and because now u know that treated like that is not good for the children we hope in the future you and i would be a good and caring father. | | | | | | | niship2009 (657)

| | Whatever maybe the reason but my brothers pretend to respect him but they really don't care for him. Also, the reason behind his rude attitude was that he belonged to a very poor family where the British had blames his father as a thief and my father's father was also a mad man like him. This is what my mother and my father's mother used to say. It was inheritance that my father's father was also like this in behavior. What is the use of researching on all this now. Life and my childhood has been gone now. | | | | | | | E-Book for children Give "Messengers From a New World", inspire them to find their Gift. www.reynaaldrete.com | add comment | | | |

| | i think the ones who isnt real men might do so, but a real man dont no matter what. i know my dad used to stay on me about school and all. but i do know he did love me no matter how much he fought. my dad was rude with me. but when i needed him he was always there for me and even now. we finally became close within the last four years. sometime i think with dads we want the best for our kids, and sometime how we go about it seem to be wrong to our kids, i was very strict when it came to my kids, but i wasnt never rude to them, by calling them bad names or anyting. | | | | | | | | | | After School Services Find Reliable Local Babysitters.
