Ebooks and paperbacks?  

No they will never replace the good old book.

A hard-covered book is still my preference although those electronic books comes in easily and can be downloaded with ease. I agree with you that reading e-books strain the eye more than reading paper books. I don't think these e-book things will ever replace the original books. It is just that e-books are easy to reproduce and publish. What I do with e-books is to print them and have them covered so that I can bring it anywhere like a book.

Well I agree with you Yicheng92, e-books are boring and tiresome but with the changing trends of life and the revolution in technology anything is possible. I believe in future everyone will be reading e-books. have you realized that most books sold online are electronic? Have a great day

I too love paperbacks. I don't like reading e-books because my eyes pain and it's boring to read it. I like the smell of the paper specially the old smell of it. I also love putting bookmark in it and with the touch and the reality of paperbacks, you will always finish reading it.

True, e-books have become very public and famous nowadays. It's the trend now with all of the innovations in technology. Technology really becomes better and better. Things that were not possible or even thinkable then are being made now. But, I also think that e-books would be replacing paperbacks. It's never going to replace it. No matter how advance things are, paperbacks will still be useful. Reading e-books aren't as enjoyable as reading paperbacks. It is still very different. :)

I have to say that I am tempted by the idea of an ebook reader because I love the idea of having a lightweight gadget in my pocket that I can pull out and select what I want to read from a whole library of different books. So far I have only dowloaded ebooks to my computer and that will certainly never replace a paperback or a hardback (so difficult to read if you are sitting out in the sun!) But I have not used an ebook reader yet and they are supposed to be easier, in terms of eye strain, than a computer. Even so, I don't think anything will ever fully replace the traditional book.

I'm not going to insist it could never happen. Technology moves fast and things we thought were irreplaceable have become obsolete.
But, I hate eBooks. I hate them! I really do! I like flipping through actual pages and carry a big hardcover book with me everywhere I go. I like having a bookshelf overflowing with books. I like cramming books into every available corner of my room. I like curling up at night with my books and reading until the wee hours of the morning. I've never liked reading on a screen, and I've never liked my collection being reduced to files on a hard drive

Will i don't think they will replace paperback after all ebooks is not that popular at all yea .

the day e-books are going to substitute real books is near. devices that will be able to store entire libraries within them. the possibilities are endless. be well. keep lotting.

i dont think ebooks will ever replace paperbacks and hardbound books. there's still something "magial" about holding a book, flipping its pages and all. however, in my case, i live in a small condo and i love reading books, thats sometimes i resort to getting ebooks (and probably will get an iPad hahaha) so that i can save space.
