cell phone silent mode  

Usually when I am in office I keep my mobile in silent mode, when I step outside my home I keep my mobile in silent mode and when mobile rings it vibrates, I think when we step outside our house it's best to keep it in silent mode ...

I believe having silent mode on your cellphone on is a way on how you respect others. I do turn on my phone's silent mode in a meeting like you do, training, at work, in church, in the movie theatre and public library. I usuallyturn my phone with ringing tone if I am too far away on my phone at home. i believe especting others focus and concentration is very important. I myself doesn't want to be disturbed as well if I am doing something that needs my attention.

There will always be inconsiderate ple around, and we cant help it.. haha =D

I will only be using silent mode when i'm in meeting or during wedding solemnisation, as well as watching the movies.. haha =D Or maybe, in events whereby it's serious, and it's better not to have disturbances?? hehe ^_^

BUt when i'm sleeping, i wont be using the silent mode at all, for i will tend to forget to set it back to normal mode the next day.. haha =D

since I have a cell phone, i always make it into silent mode + vibrate mode..
even if I'm at home

Besides meeting and training,i usually use silent mode of cell phone in below situations:
When i go to sleep and rest
I don't reply to some people because of their phone calls
When my mood is bad i will turn the cell phone into silent mode

my phone is in silent mode
in church
when the phone is just in my hand/ when im just in texting mode with a friend.
at night, when i sleep or if i dont want to be disturbed when sleeping
and if im not in the mood... :)

i also have the same observation like you and i really hate people who are inconsiderate. usually when i am attending our church worship services i just don't put my phone in silent mode, but i do turn it off! its embarrassing when the cellphone rings while in the middle of the bible study. and its such a disrespect for the speaker.
and yes whenever i am in such occasions like seminars, trainings before i also put it in silent mode and when in class. (its when i am still a student)
actually when on travel, i also put the phone in vibrating mode. i just don't like to get attention out of it...

Our phone is always on vibrate. My husband uses the phone the most and is usually always at work so he keeps it on vibrate. We don't use it unless we're out somewhere so we don't feel the need to change the tone.

I am using silent mode when I am in a meeting, when i go to my boss Cabin, in the Doctors Chambers, Cinema hall............ We know why and where to use the silent mode.
