Jethro Tull --- remember them? |
Does anybody remember the band - Jethro Tull and/or their albums/songs like Aqualung, Locomotive Breath...
I love the band for its albums, their live shows, Ian Anderson... I was just wondering if there were others who knew of the band and had something to say about them:)

cooldrdate (183) | 4 years ago | Ian Anderson's flute play is just out of the world!! In Bursting out, he does a combo of flute play and humming.. which then blends into a full medley from the band... pretty good stuff!!

cooldrdate (183) | 4 years ago | "Bursting out" remains one of fav Jethro Tull listening!!:) And Ian Anderson has had some really witty things to say.. They won the Grammy for Heavy Metal/Hard Rock performance in 1987 beating Metallica.. for the Crest of a Knave:0) According to Wikipedia... in response to criticism to their award.. the band took out an advert in a British music periodical stating: "The flute is a heavy, metal instrument".

9. stmech0 (1384) | 4 years ago | yes I've listened to Tull for 30 odd years now, Aqualung has to be my favorite album and one of my favorite tracks. There's not a single track on that album I can't listen to over and over again.---Pete.

cooldrdate (183) | 4 years ago | Awesome! Good to come across another Jethro Tull fan in here!! Have you been to any of their live shows?
| |
stmech0 (1384) | 4 years ago | No I havn't and I really regret it. I live near Manchester, U.K. which is around 60 miles from Blackpool, their original stomping ground. I've been tempted to see them lately but would rather remember them as they were in the 70s/80s. I think Ian may be losing a little of that spark now.
| |
cooldrdate (183) | 4 years ago | Ian Anderson is getting old:) The band's been in existence since the 1960s:0) so it's quite expected that he'd be losing some of his spark. If the band is coming to my vicinity, I intend to go for live performance:)
