Long Term Relationship ending in sickness | | My partner and I have been in a relationship for 36 years.
6 months ago he quit his job and to this day has not worked.
He seems to have lost interest in life completely.
Health wise he seems ok but I notice his memory is going back in time to his teenager years.
He is only 62 years of age.
He recently went on early retirement.
He says everything is ok and he feels fine.
I have to do everything as he cannnot remember certain things.
I cook, clean and shop, and he comes with me but it seems he is constantly in a daze.
He sits home all day while I work and he watchs TV, plays solitude on the PC and thats all.
I love him dearly but he is worrying me day and night.
I would love to go out and attend movies and social functions but he just wants to sit home.
Can somebody help me as I would like to lead a normal life but still remain his lover.
Thankyou
Graeme

My guess is he was having memory problems at work or couldn't do the job anymore. If the doctor doesn't help, see a psychiatrist (not a psychologist). Don't abandon him now; he needs you. There is treatment for whatever he is experiencing.
