Mine would be "Mas mabuti ng magnakaw kaysa mamakla" because it means really nice and deeply thought of.

As August is the month of the Filipino language, I think this proverb is appropriate.
Ang hindi magmahal sa sariling wika ay mahigit pa sa hayop at malansang isda.
- from Jose Rizal, Philippine national hero (he said this when he was 7 years old)
Translation: He who does not love his language is worse than a beast and a soiled fish. (am not sure if soiled is the correct translation for malansa)

I got one, "Ang umaayaw, di nagwawagi,ang nagwawagi, di umaayaw" A quiter never wins, a winner never quits!" How about that?
