DF or Recumbent?

The recognisable frame shape of the conventional bike gives it the name of "Diamond Frame",or DF..There are other forms of bike frame, one of which is the recumbent type. Some of them resemble the "Chopper" type bikes, and there are other variants. The one I bought most recently doesn't have a frame as such..what you might call the "Top Tube" on a DF bike IS to all intents and purposes the frame of the bike, with the back wheel forks in a straight line with it,the tube extending forward to the chainwheel which is at the very front,so your feet are straight out in front of you, rather than beneath, and a rigid framed seat (not a saddle)sits atop the tube..DF saddles are known for being uncomfortable, and the weight of your upper body leaning on the handlebars can cause wrist strain, both issues being addressed by recumbents.Ever try a recumbent, seen one,or thought about cycling comfortably?

There's a neck support "Pillow" that attaches to the top of the seat back..they're designed for the rider's comfort and touring..Did You Know, apparently the land speed records for cycle based vehicles are from recumbents fitted with an aerodynamic fairing!
