The discussions are classified into 3 categories - new questions, hot topics (which are are sometimes controversial) and brain busters (discussions/questions with no replies for a week). Usually, most people have an opinion on hot topics. You can start a discussion, but you will not earn any point, till someone replies to the discussion. Many users are of the opinion that answering questions in the "not answered" section will earn you more money.
