What self respecting conservative would donate to Hillary, John Kerry, Charles Rangel, Charles Schumer or Ted Kennedy? Nope, don't fall for it folks, "the Don" is a great front man, but no front runner.

I feel the same way. Something is up, and I haven't put my finger on it yet, but its just way to convenient that things have gone down the way they have.

I long time Democrat is passing himself off as a Republican... that's what is up. Brings a whole new meaning to RINO. ;~D

I figured he was up to something. All the excitement about the BC no one is asking the important questions.

I read that all big business donates to both parties. Still, I don't think I want Trump for president. Sure, when he first started talking about it I was excited--a straight talker in the WH!! But gradually I realized what a great publicity campaign his supposed candidacy was and I don't think he is serious at all. If he does run, and I doubt he will, people will vote for a Dem rather than him, it will split the vote so that we'll have another 4 years for our current Marxist to ruin the country.

True, business people do donate to candidates from both parties. However, you can tell their true allegiances by the amounts given, and which party caucuses they donate to (money just given to the party or caucus to use as they see fit). Voting for Trump IS voting for a Dem.

Debra, it is so that they can buy favors from either party. If they donate or raise enough the politician is obligated to them and can make things go their way.

I never understood why someone would donate to more than one party. Why do they do this? Isn't it counterproductive?

Not a conservative - he knows he has no chance of running for President as a Democrat so he is pandering to the Tea Party in order to get their backing for his run for the Presidency. To be honest - 15 - 20 years ago I would have voted for him; but, it is obvious that he is way past his prime and is going into a "decline". He is no longer as sharp as he was and no longer has what it really takes to make a decent President. He has found a group that he can con and take advantage of and that is what he is doing. At this point I don't know if HE even knows what his agenda is.

I think he is now a conservative, but was not before. Reagan was the same way. He started as liberal and became a conservative. I do not know if Trump will run, and I suspect that he wanted Obama to reveal the truth about his birth and his college records, because the Democrats were using that rumor so that the Republicans would not have a chance of running, since they would be still focused on this issue. Of course, it would be easier if Obama was not qualified, but better now, since they can now get rid of him because of his policies.

There was a decade or two between Reagan being a liberal and becoming a conservative. Once he changed he completely denounced liberalism. Trump hasn't denounced the Democrat party at all... nor his liberalism. He donated vast amounts to Democrats in the last election!

What you're talking about is a pretty drastic change in a matter of a year. He donated heavily to Harry Reid in the last Senatorial election. Hey also donated to heavily to the Democrat House and Senate re-election fund. Like I said before, yes people often donate to candidates on both sides (just in case). However, rarely do people just hand big donations to the parties themselves, if they aren't members (or at least leaning that direction). Nothing about his background even hints of conservatism. Now he's passing himself of as the heir apparent? I don't think so. It could be worse though, we could end up with Huckabee as the RNC nominee.. I would vote for Obama before I voted for that son of Satan.

It does not matter how long it takes to change your political views. All it needs is to really read what is going on, and what their political views lead to. I used to be sort of liberal, what they call Democratic down there, but when I really saw what it meant, I changed to Conservative or what you call Republicans. It did not take that long. I think Trump was so busy with his real estate and his business that he did not take time to really now how leftism is negatively affecting America until now. I feel that he will get more conservative as time goes by.
