Have you ever had an encounter, a personal encounter (Not a story from a friend, of a friend)? I'd really like to hear about them. I have several of my own ecounters to share! So, here are just a few of them. I'll add others when more people start responding.
Lady In White:
The way our home is set up, if you're sitting in the kitchen you have a clear view out onto our porch via window or kitchen door. Every now and again you will see a woman dressed in white drift by. For the longest time we thought maybe we were just seeing the porch collumns so we painted them black. Guess what? We still have our lady in white walking around. However, it's not just on the porch. If you walk about our field late at night, you can see her traveling up ahead of you just about to take a turn onto the next path never letting you get to close if you even dare to try. My brother had an encounter with her one Halloween night. We had been walking around the field and suddenly he heard her singing to herself, and saw the vision in white just up ahead on the path. He tried to catch up with her, but she was always out of reach, he said she had something in her hands that she was swirling around with. While the rest of the family is unsure of who the spirit is, he believes it may have been our departed cousin come back to check on us every now and again.

Gone Swimming:
August 2nd 2004-
I finally decided to take my little brother for a swim. Which is odd really, since usually he has to pull my arm, and bribe me. However, this isn't the point of the story, so lets move on shall we? We walk down to the swimming hole, and for once it's totally empty. So we get the water to ourselves, and there wasn't anyone farther down the creek either. I mention this because it's important to realize we were ALONE. Well, after half an hour of swimming around my little brother decides he wants to see if he can still do under water handstands.
-Brother: I'm going to do a hand stand, watch to see if my hat floats off.
-Me: Alright.
A few seconds later he comes back up.
-Brother: Watch out for what?
-Me: Huh?
-Brother: I was under the water and heard you say Watch out for something.
-Me: I didn't say anything, I was standing here watching your hat.
-Brother: You sure?
-Me: Yeah, go back under and see if they say anything else.*JOKINGLY*
-Brother: Okay.
He goes under again, and comes back up faster this time.
-Brother: I heard two little girls laughing.
By this time we're both ready to get out of the water and go home. He starts to swim off, and I'm about to follow when I feel a hand grab my ankle. I could feel each finger, and the fingertips pressing into my skin. It pulled me down from the little rock I was standing on and under the water. When I got back to the surface for a few seconds I saw my little brother running out of the water. A lot of help he is right? Finally I shake the hand off, and manage to swim towards the bank and he helps me out. We both RUN home, which is amazing because I never run anywhere. After telling our parents about it, we wait until it gets dark and go back down wanting to take some pictures of the area. My digital camera sucks, so none of them turned out- we both decided NEVER to swim there again.

The Picture:
My uncle had lived with his parents his entire life, and eventually he passed away due to medical reasons. He really loved these little cars that he had. Forever they lie on the bottom of this large wooden book shelf. A few months after his passing, my grand mother decided to put the little cars away. Instead she put up a photo where they had been resting. She put the photo up, and it violently fell to the floor. At first she thought it may have been a breeze, but each time she put the photo up, it was again knocked down onto the floor. Eventually she gave up and put the cars back. When she did this, they sat there perfectly without disturbance.
