How do you set a manual alarm clock?

My mom bought a cheap 6 dollar alarm clock for my brother, but he didn't want it, so I took it. It looks like one of those old alarm clocks with the bells, but instead of the hammer hitting the bells, I guess it's just for decoration, because it just beeps instead. It's kind of a disappointment actually, I think I'll buy one with real bells later on. I know how to set the alarm, with the flat little hand on the bottom, so when the hour hand passes it, the alarm goes off. But how do I make the alarm only go off once every 24 hours, not every 12 hours? If I set it for 6:30, how does it know the difference between AM and PM? Or does it? Do I have to reset it every day?

The cheap ones? I don't think you can set it to alarm only once every 24 hours. Also, I think you have to reset it every time. Although I'm not entirely sure on this because I don't know what type of clock you have exacty.

Since it beeps (and I'm assuming it's not an electric plug-in) it is battery operated. When you set the little flat had there should be some indicator when you roll it around to p.m. A small circular light should light up to show the pm's. Or on some clocks, the hand will go into a dark/black zone. Just look for something like that.
