Both O.J. Simpson's book and TV special have been cancelled |

Do you feel that the right thing has been done? Do you think that they'll eventually be resurrected when public furor has calmed down?

sbeauty (4509) | 4 years ago | It's all pretty sick, isn't it? When my husband and I first heard that all this was taking place, we were shocked. They were unable to find him guilty, but they never proved he was innocent, either. He has always had a pretty cocky attitude about everything, too. I can't believe he's resurfaced like this so many years after the public banished him.

2. caribe (1875) | 4 years ago | I am thrilled that the deal has been cancelled. I couldn't believe he would have the audacity to do that to begin with. Some people will do anything to make a buck and I think he was stooping pretty low to try to make money on that.

sbeauty (4509) | 4 years ago | We all know he's pretty low, anyway. I never had any doubt that if he had been just a poor, average Joe he'd have been convicted of the murders. He was just able to afford that expensive team of lawyers who finagled his way out of the problem. Justice was not done, and it's sad to think that he was trying to make money off of flaunting his crime. The poor families of the victims must have been fit to be tied.

sbeauty (4509) | 4 years ago | How could anyone who was alive at the time of the murders and the trial forget? The outcome of the trial was shocking. No one proved OJ innocent, and no one ever looked for or found someone else to pin the crime on. If he was so innocent, why didn't they go after the real killer?

4. Idlewild (4736) | 4 years ago | Good idea to cancel them both. I don't think a major publishing house will want to touch that book after the furor it created, but maybe someone could put up the money for it privately. Maybe the TV show will be done on some cable network that doesn't have to worry about ratings as much as Fox TV.

sbeauty (4509) | 4 years ago | I suppose you're right. Since the material already exists, someone will decide to make a quick buck with it.

5. isasice (1096) | 4 years ago | I never believed in his innocence and I thought the way he was promoting his book was pretty sick. Who would say such a thing about his dead wife? I had no idea who OJ was before the killings and maybe it was the media that planted this judgement into my head but I just can't believe one word he says. I would never have read that book or seen the movie. Right or wrong... I think there has been enough coverage about the case and I think it's wrong for him to gain financially for those killings, weather he commited them or not.

sbeauty (4509) | 4 years ago | It's wrong for OJ to profit in any way. It's also not fair to the Brown and Goldman families to drag all of those painful memories out into the media again.

sbeauty (4509) | 4 years ago | Yes, his attitude sucks. He thinks he's off such a coup. Then he throws a tantrum when people don't think he should just go about life as if nothing had ever happened.

8. angel1961 (313) | 4 years ago | Just another scheme of his to make some type of "profit" from something so tragic. If he really didnt do it, how could you come up with different type senario's you would come up with for yourself if your not guilty.

|
sbeauty (4509) | 4 years ago | I don't know if the guy is facing financial problems or not, but he has no right to profit from tragedy and pain. And he does everything with a smug, self-satisfied smirk on his face which turns my stomach.

cpamanda (277) | 4 years ago | Agreed. It is sick! I had already decided that I would not watch the tv special or buy the book and that I would tell everyone I know. It is unimaginable! To profit from that tragedy. I have to believe there is a special place for him when he leaves this earth.

9. Mahindan (415) | 4 years ago | As far as i know he has not paid a cent to the victims of the civil case. I think he should have been allowed to do it and then all his profits taken away by the court and paid to the victims. If he had already paid the victims then i would say he not be allowed to do the book or the TV interviews.

| |
|
|
sbeauty (4509) | 4 years ago | You've made a good point. He should be forced to make the court-ordered restitution. That was the only route the poor families could take after they lost the other suit. Nothing good should ever happen to this guy again. He's already been given too much in life and chose to abuse it.

owlwings (5394) | 4 years ago | If I were one of the victims, I still wouldn't want to touch a cent of the money he might have made from the book. I was so glad when I heard that Murdoch and FOX had cancelled the deal!
