My daughter went to her first math tutoring class after school yesterday and she came home really happy after it. This morning she told me mom she makes learning more fun in this class than our normal math class. I asked her what she was working on and she said she has me working on things that she knows I need help in. Her next class is the 22nd.

It is great that she can get tutoring. I always hated math in school and in college. The sooner she gets it the better off she will be down the road. I hope that she continues to enjoy the subject. It is so much better when the subject you are studying is clear.

It really depends upon the teacher. Teacher can make or unmake students. It's great that her teacher is flexible.

That is a great result of going to extra help. If she is happy she will be more open to learning what she needs to to make a good foundation for her math skills.

This is cool, and if it is helping teach and show her some New things and help develop her skills of what she might want to do and be later in life that is a plus. I know the times I have done things to help teach others, especially when it is something New or something someone is having a hard time with, it helps me to realize a lot about myself more for sure.

Math is important in life and to learn it is a must. Im glad she is liking her math tutoring class. Of course in tutoring they are going to work on the things that she needs help with. They arent going to waste your time or hers on learning new things because she still needs helps with other things in math. Im sure in her regular math class at school they just keep going and going without ever leaving time for student to catch up or learn the thing they are teaching and we all know that is what happens. So tutoring helps and im glad she likes it too.

You are so right math is very important. Yes in the normal math class they keep going and going. Up north where we use to live she did not know her multiplication and they went on to division. Finally they put her in a computer class for math that worked on multiplication once she mastered it she got a certificate of completion and went on to division. Now to get her up where she needs to be and get her grade up.

Hello, Tina30219! I would just like to add that in every lesson taught, there is always an assessment or evaluation. If possible, this is done everyday, usually few minutes before the class ends. This is to ensure that the students understood the lesson. If after the assessment, the teacher found out that most of the students didn't pass, he needs to do remedial teaching. He should not discuss another lesson the following day because the students are not yet ready. If in case only one or two of the students didn't understand the lesson, the teacher needs to find ways on how these students can understand the lesson. Remedial teaching during his vacant period is one option. He can also talk to the parents of these students and ask help from them to guide the students. He should give more activities and assignments to these students, and of course, he needs to check if the students have correctly answered the assignments. Your daughter enjoys her tutorial class because there are only few students in that class and the teacher can give more time to each of them. In the classroom setting in school, studying sometimes gets boring because teachers don't have enough time to incorporate different games in each lesson to make it more interesting.
