Camera Claims To Make People Look Slimmer
CLEVELAND -- People love to take pictures of family and friends, but not everyone is pleased with how they look in them.
Now there's a new feature on some HP Photosmart cameras that allows people to look like they've lost 10 pounds and even more.
Cleveland TV station WEWS decided to find out if people would be interested.
Asher Vassar just bought a new camera but said he's already looking to upgrade."Sounds pretty reasonable depending on the cost, and I would have to test it out," Vassar said.
When he saw his picture, he was pleased."I work out a lot, but it slims me down and makes me look 30 pounds lighter -- real good feature," he said.
But not everyone was convinced. Rachel Parkes had her picture taken as well."There's a little bit of a difference. I didn't think it was that noticeable. I probably wouldn't have noticed if it wasn't pointed out to me. It's not something I would buy the camera for," Parkes said.
Both consumers said they liked the fact that the camera has more than just the slimming option. There are several selling points, including red-eye removal, zoom lens and shading options.
Photographers do not necessarily need a special camera to make their subjects look slimmer. Programs like Adobe Photoshop can allow people to tweak just the areas they want. Keep in mind the slimming feature on the camera is basically compressing the photo, so other objects could be distorted.

Do you think it's possible for a camera to make you look thinner? Would you buy one if it could make you look slimmer? What is the most you would pay for a camera like this?
