Finding your native american roots

thanks for responding. Yes, I am definetly proud of my native roots and also my other ancestries. You are right when you say Adam and Eve, amen. The native roots comes from my mothers side and we also love the pow wow's they are informative and it is as if the blood of our ancestors call out to us. As well as my Scot/irish roots. Amazing isn't it?

It is amazing. I feel native soles all the time when I am driving around the country. I try to imagine how this beautiful country must have looked to them without roads, houses and factories.

I hate to bring up terrorism but, I feel as if the Natives were terrorized. It's an issue I feel very strongly about.
I feel as if the pilgrims would have tried to adapt to the Native ways instead of trying to "civilize" them, the entire world would be a different place.

hey,, I was just talking to someone about that very same thing. About how the native people must have felt when people came over here to the america's and took what they had. I was just up in ticondaroga (can't spell it) ha.. and the waterfalls are beautiful and all i could think of while staring at them was how the native american indians must have felt to have all that taken away. sad.. but true.. it is a type of terrorism.

Even more sad is that they didn't believe in owning land! They believe it is here for all of us to go where ever we want.

that is so true and i think they would have been fine with that until people started mooching in.. and thanks for the remark about "indians" I often wondered how that got in there.. especially when people from india are called indians. hummmm.. interesting

It's about Native Americans. Some people call them Indians, though I don't know why we should.
They are not from India.
They were in America first.
Columbus met them when he discovered America. Lol, he thought he was in India. He called them Indians and the name has stuck ever since.
