Taking Toprol-LS for Headaches

I have always had headaches. Over10 years ago a doctor subscribed a beta blocker which controlled my headaches instantly, but it caused me to gain alot of weight. after a couple of years of taking it, I stopped. Now, I am having a headache 'everyday' with a constant blurred vision and pressure from my neck up around my back of my head and into my eyes. My back muscles are like rocks and sore to the touch. Today, my doctor suggested trying a beta blocker again and gave me 25 mg of Toprol-xl. Has anyone had any experience in taking this drug for headaches? I do not have high blood pressure, but do suffer from alot of stress.
