 My kids took her for a walk in the park behind our house. They left her on her leash like we always do, and she wandered off. They came back upset because they couldn't find her. I waited an hour before I decided to go look because she has done this many times before and always came home.
Just as I was walking out the door, another kid came in saying "Chip" shot our dog! He said this guy, chip, put her in his truck and he was going to take her and shoot her!
I called the police and we all sat outside waiting, when she comes down the sidewalk, all wobbly and stumbling. I took her in the house and didn't see any blood. The officer and I thought he must have punched her or something because there was no blood. We just couldn't believe that someone could or would shoot her.
After he left, we looked better and sure enough she had a small hole in the side of her jaw. We took her to the vet and I guess he couldn't believe it either because he thought the little hole was just a small wound. Said we should leave her overnight and she would probably be fine to come home in the morning.
So we go to pick her up, happily thinking she was fine and he says he had bad news. He had done an ex-ray and she had been shot. It destroyed her entire jaw! She would have to be put down. It was so, so sad. It was so hard to leave her. I can still see the look in her eye as we left. As if she knew, she was being brave. The worst thing to think about is that it destroyed her voice box. So, all that time she was crying, only no sound came out.
The guy was arrested and we found out that he had taken her 7 miles away, shot her and left her thinking she was dead.
I guess he didn't know that that dog loved us so much, she would have rose from the dead to get back to us.
We also found out that he had 13 collars in his car. That's just the ones with collars. There is no telling how many he killed that didn't have them on. He would adopt dogs, then take them and kill them.
To any animal killers out there. You are sick, get help!

Some people out in the world are just really sick and need to have the same thing done to them that they are doing to others even if it is a dog! I am so sorry that you had to part with your dog in that way. That makes me sick! God Bless

Where I work, we rent out an office. The people who ren tout the office keep two dogs which bark when people they don't know are around. The Fed Ex guy comes in and says something about the dogs being annoying. We agree cause they can be and everyone says something. Then he says "Ya know a hot dog with a little bit of antifreeze in a hotdog will cure that. They just lay down and go to sleep and don't get back up." What a sicko!

One was a german shepard that had been a stray we adopted she was pregnant and had 10 puppies, we found her dead at the edge of our yard. I had to feed the puppies myself. The other was another pup we had and he was shot in the neck, he was a lucky guy that time The bullet missed all the important parts, the vet gave him a shot and sent him home. One day I was outside and the guy started yelling at my dog because he was sitting on his side of the fence. After I got done Telling him he would be the next one on the ground if he never shot one of my dogs again. I guess he thought I was crazy. Unfortunately someone did poison 3 of our dogs. The vet saved 2 of them and later on they were poised again and died. We had no idea who poisoned them. Thank God we dont live there anymore. I can't stand people who will harm animals. prison is to good for these people. Anyone that is that cruel to an animal will hurt a person. They have no feelings. God Bless. | |

You know you made the right decision, don't you? You have to know that. Don't ever doubt that.
I hope your kids are doing as well as could be hoped for.
I hope they send that guy off for a looooong time.
