| Well, I just got back from a different universe and thought I'd share with you all. I'm not certain of how much I took, but my wife and I and our roommate took 4 bottles of Non-Drowsy Formula Wal-Tussin Cough Softgels. 15mg Dextromethorphan HBr being the only active ingredient amongst us (I individually place 1 pill at a time from the fourth into our seperate bottles and the two left over into my wife and our roommate's bottle) The generic off-brand kind from Walgreens. Let me stop here to make a few recommendations. #1 if you do get the cheap stuff, you most likely will throw up. While vomiting is not an entirely unpleasant experience whilst tripping balls, it is still kinda ick. #2 MAKE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE ACTIVE INGREDIENT IN YOUR PRODUCT #3 That chemical is Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide (HBr) #4 This is not for everyone. Please research it and take doses accordingly. Try the first plateau, and if you like that, try the second and so on. #5 Know yourself. If you are having a bad day or week even, I don't recommend this drug. #6 Avoid music with electronic scritching sounds such as Aphex Twin. I highly recommend Tool's Aenima and Lateralus, with a nice dose of Tori Amos and final fantasy music. Now on to the experience. We started listening to music while waiting for it to come on...Aphex Twin and BT, and some other random trancy stuff. The Aphex twin got skipped. a lot. We broke out some glowsticks and played with them for awhile, but that was all while still sober. Then...WHAM. It hit us like a tonne of bricks. We were listening to something, I have no idea what, but we all almost simultaneously decided to lie down, and floated there for what felt like an eternity. then shortly thereafter we were each at our individual trash cans or toilets vomiting out the salad we had eaten earlier. In between this having rather interesting conversations about how it wasn't a really extremely negative experience. All this took place in the span of about two hours. After I had finished I decided to remove all of the Aphex Twin and BT and anything else I had thought a good idea for music from the playlist and just stuck with what was familiar and comfortable. Tori Amos's Venus disc 1 followed by Lateralus (the full album). No more vomiting after that for any of us. The experience was so lovely, so pure and so metaphysical that there aren't words to describe it. Everything felt wonderful and new. It was as if some other creature had taken the controls to my body, I was moving to the music in ways I never thought humanly possible, and I was just mentally there, and that's about it. My body wasn't my own at the time. It's an amazing experience and one that makes you really appreciate your humanity, and what it is to make your body move every day. The only times it gets uncomfortable is when you try to resist the movements your body wants to make. After listening to Lateralus fully through which felt like an eternity, Opiate came on and things started to wind down. We listened to that and then went to lie down in bed with no music. It was pleasant, and it was about that time that I started to realize the feelings, and sort of be able to describe it. The way I described it earlier as if I were inhabited by some alien mind who was experiencing the control of a human form for the first time. I was just thinking that, and I asked myself mentally if it were true. Almost instantly I got a simple mental reply. "Yes." I then asked this responding being if it would let me experience it's body, since mine had been so new and different to it. Instantly I was floating out and up and away to a place I had only visited once before on DXM, but last time I was an observer. This time I was inside one of the strange beings that had looked at me so curiously before. The creature I had become had four limbs like us, and two heads (I think, I couldn't see the heads since I was looking out through it's eyes) and it's arms were very long, much longer than it's legs, and it walked on all fours. At this point I felt I was making it uncomfortable so I thanked it and returned to my familiar body. The being's consciousness returned with me and experimented around with my body doing more strange things with my hands that I still never thought humanly possible, and I drifted slowly into sleep. And this is the morning after. I feel completely sober, and blissful. I never have a hangover from this experience. Just a sort of Anti-hangover, that leaves me feeling like I took Ecstacy with out all the nasty side effects and mental insobriety. While I would recommend this experience to anyone, I must stress that you have to be in a proper state of mind and be willing to release control of yourself to a visitor from some other world. I hope you enjoyed this little recollection |
