Yes, nice that you know them.
It´ the most popular Jazzrock Band ever. They started in 1970 and split up i think it was in 1986. They filled big concert halls like a rock band... can you believe. The famous bass player Jaco Pastorius played with them...

I do not know a lot about them...
Just that they made jazz music.
They must have been really great for people who like jazz.. Especially since they filled big concert halls!
They must have shocked their fans by slitting up!

Yes, they had the right time doing the kind of music they played. And because of there expanding style of music they not only got the jazz fans...

It´s a kind of jazzrock band they startet in 1971 they created some of the lovliest music around the hole planet and had lots of creative musicians in it. I listen to them since 1985 got the best records they made. Wayne Shorter the sax player was in it and he had played with Miles Davis maybe you know him?

black market, sweetnighter, i sing the body electric,
8:30, or the first one called by their name.

Hi L. Thanks for the recommendations; as soon as I am a little richer, I'll check one of those CDs out. Which do you think is the best? Would you say that Weather Report are closer to (Contemporary) Jazz, or (Jazz/Fusion) Rock? Often the dividing line between these two genres is all but nonexistent.

I would say at the begining they were more experimental,
more towards freejazz. Later on it became more constructiv but i wouldn´t say it´s contemporary. By the way i´ve never heard that coverversion from Manhattan Transfer, must have been great.

Yes go ahead and listen too them their just great.

Yes i know they made a lot of great records, yes Heavy Weather is a fine one. I also like The Black Market album or Sweetnighter. I have a live record from japan it´s from 1971
it´s very good but bad in sound.

Yes i like their style but i don´t know much of them a musician friend of mine showed me some songs from them and also lend me a DVD from a concert, well i think they are awesome and very special in their style of music.

You could name me some of their best albums.

I remember seeing the song Three Of A Perfect Pair in the video and i thought woohhhh what an amazing song it is, even unbelieveable Adrian Belew singing it while playing that tricky riff on the guitar. Also Robert Fripp is absolutly unique in his style. It´s really very progressiv music and i love that.

Well me and my girlfriend had a hell of fun we played music till about 3:00am pretty loud and sometimes opend the windows so our neighbours could hear it too...
I was have drunk at 4:00am and fell to sleep on the living room couch... lol.. next day i woke up at 9:00am freezing, i forgot the blanket ... lol

There was nothing really interesting around and so we stayed at home also because of driving. I can´t stay sober on new years eve ... lol
We mostly put on live records so we had great feeling with the music and at home sometimes is best, my friends also stayed home with their girls.

Well that´s great to hear, i never saw Zawinul in concert. Jaco sure is one of the greatest but i also like to older Weather Report LP´s where Miroslav Vitous plays bass.

Nice to hear that you know them too, you and you´re sister have a good taste in music. I´m a fan of them since many years, especialy Wayne Shorter i admire him, like his sax playing and solo LP´s. Thanks a lot Mia for that link i din´t know it, well we have internet for short time now. It´s really cool... great thing, i already have watched some videos in the morning of Jaco Pastorius he was so gifted with music.
