Wow! You sure are a fan of FMA. Yes, I agree with you when you say that the movie was garbled. I thought I was the only one who didn't understand the story completely. Very true that the characters' persona all have changed. So weird. Maybe they just created the movie to go with the episodes.

I love FMA. I've seen the full series about seven times now, and my favorite episodes more times than I can count. :D I even run a few FMA communities over on Livejournal. But yeah, a lot of people agree that the movie was very garbled. The only good thing was that Ed and Al ended up together - though I think they should have gone home. And I'm a huge fan of Scar and Lust, so that little scene at the end made me happy.

Another thing I don't get is that they introduced the whole idea of that crazy alchemist with the bomb in the beginning and then.... did nothing with it. They way they set it up, they set it up to be an integral part of the plot. But it was nothing. Blargh.

LOL. I did not understand what's the connection with the alchemist with the bomb. I completely forgot about him as the story progress. I mean, why would they place a scene like that if they don't plan to expound on it for the later scenes. So weird. I was hoping that Ed and Al will stay back home together with Winry.
It is a pity though that there are only a few fans of FMA here in myLot. Thanks for your response.

I felt the movie was just a way for those production guys to end the series and they didn't really think about *how* they should end it.

The manga is still ongoing and I really really hope they have a better ending.

And one thing I didn't like either in the anime or the movie was that Al was made to look like this whiny complaining brother or this helpless guy who had to have *everything* done for him. He certainly seemed stronger and well.. more pragmatic in the manga.

I bought a DVD of the movie. And I'm planning to buy the DVD of its episodes also next week, because I haven't really completed watching all of its episodes.

Animax channel now has a reply of the episode, and i'm going to watch it over again, lol! i really love the elric brothers especially Roy Mustang, lol!

I don't have cable so I don't have Animax, I think I'll just buy the DVD to be able to watch all the episodes. hehehe

We recommend that you watch the series, really nice story and funny at times. But about the movie, I am not sure everyone will appreciate it. There are already some spoilers mentioned from the first response of this discussion. Thanks for you response though.

Yes, I was also disappointed on the movie's ending, especially leaving Winly. Tsk tsk.. I haven't read the manga yet, but maybe I will do so soon. I am intriqued when you said that it has a different story. Thanks for your response.

Oh yeah and I was actually kinda surprised that they treat her more like a sister than anything else in the movie.. or maybe that's just my romantic self being disappointed :P

You are not alone madgirl. I was also disappointed on how they treated Winly. She was just treated like a best friend, and all along I thought there was something more than that. lol

You are right! Not much alchemy was there in the movie. And you made me go thinking that you are also right that it is rare to find look alikes in one place. heheheh... very funny to call it a coincidence, right.
