I would like to program my Windows XP Touch-Pad PC, to control wired & wireless devices; ex. lights, switches, IP cameras, motors just about any thing electronic.
Any suggestions where to start -- I did a little Basic & Assembly programming years ago when DOS was around but now I'd like to do the same using Windows XP.
Thanks

you can download the x10 software free from their site www.x10.com
but you have to purchase their receivers to be able to utilize the software. even if you are able to write a simple automation program, you have to have some sort of receiver to activate the unit you will to control.. i think x10 is now affordable, and hey have budget kits for start-up projects..

I don't know how to do it myself, but I was looking into the same sort of thing. What you should try looking at is the X10 systems and programs. There may be something there that can help. There is definately plenty of information and it might give you an idea of where to start.
