Christmas Tree or not |
|
We are going back and forth if we should put up a Christmas Tree or not. I have a 17 month old. He wants to see what everything is and also wants to taste it. My husband and I love Christmas but were thinking of skipping the tree this year. Any ideas?

When they are at that little and into everything stage, I've only actually decorated the top half of the tree...LOL! Sometimes I have put popcorn strings down lower, then if they do get into it...it won't hurt them! :*) It might look funny to others, but we know why it's that way! The girls are always in a trance over looking up at the tall tree and watching the lights on it blink. I'd say go for it and just watch how you decorate it. Merry Christmas!

| mommyshomeincome (13) | 3 years ago | You're welcome! The kids also really enjoy when I put Fruit Loops on there too on strings :*) Remember, Christmas is for the WHOLE family...if others think you are "weird" for doing something "different"...OH WELL!! It's YOUR FAMILY'S tree!!

Next I began to select an object as an inspiration. I'm still in that phase I believe. At a local fabric store I found some gorgeous material that I want to use to create a tablecloth with matching napkins. From that pattern, and those colors (silver metallic, copper metallic, red & green) I'm going to base my decorating. Every room in the house has a tree with a different theme/color scheme. The children now do their own trees -- that's the best description I can give them because they are very unusual! The house is filled with wreaths, garlands, swags, candles, lights, and decorations. And, most of all, I include the sense of smell to create a truly homey Christmas appeal.
