Okay all you 49ers fans and even those of you who aren't.
How many more years do you think it will take for the 49ers to make it into the playoffs? to the Superbowl? Win the Superbowl?
I think they will make it to the playoffs for the 2008 season.
I think they will make it to and win the Superbowl in 2010.
I think they are starting to get back on track and as soon ans they beaf up the offensive line and defense we will be in business. Alex Smith is growning and learning and I think he will be a great quarterback with a few more years experience under his belt.
I would love to see them win the Superbowl again before they move out of San Francisco.
What are your thoughts?

Speaking optimistically, but realistically...
I definitely believe that the playoffs are within their grasp this season. I don't know about the Super Bowl this season, there are still some glaring weaknesses (wide receiver, defensive line) but they are definitely a team better on paper than the 7-9 squad they fielded last season. I think they could very well be the favorite to take the division considering they took down the NFC West Champion Seattle Seahawks twice last season and split games against the 2nd place St. Louis Rams.
They've got a young quarterback who made giant strides in improving last season, arguably one of the top 5 running backs in the entire league, and an improving offensive line. IT all depends on their defense. I think that the NFL should watch out, they could be legitimately a Super Bowl contender in three seasons.
Playoffs for the 2007 season? I think they've got a great shot at it...

I love your optimism. I started this early on in the season last year before they really imporved so I think I agree that the playoffs are within their reach this year. Their defense has been a glaring bad spot for them. I would love to see them in the playoffs this year, although I so still think we have a couple of years before we have a new superbowl ring, but the improvement is noticable and enough for us die hard fans to get excited about. GO NINERS!!!!!

I'm not sure when they will go back to the Super Bowl, but I hope it's soon... Of course, their best teams were back when Joe Montana, Jerry Rice and Ronnie Lott were there... Go Niners!!!!

Yea baby, Joe, Jerry and Ronnie were so exciting to watch.
I know we are not going to the Superbowl this year but.....
If we win our last two games and Seattle loses their last two, we win the division and are on our way to the playoffs.
Now that would be exciting and a great ego booster for the players.
GO NINERS!!!

They are coming. Won't be long. It has taken us a long time to get where we are. I miss the good old days. Joe Montana, Jerry Rice oh well, to be honest I don't even know who our quarterback is. They don't have them on tv and I don't get the newspaper, so I haven't been up to speed on the players. But anyway, I would say a couple more years.

I think there are still a few things that need to be fixed and they won't be next year.
Although, I would absolutely LOVE for you to be right and me to be wrong.
Go NINERS!!!
Thanks for responding.

I'm a 49ers fan and I also think that they will make it to the playoffs 2008 season. With the pickups they had this offseason I defenely think that they wiill take it all this year. They picked up a shutdown corner and other positions to silitify their D.

I am going to say not in 2008 but 2009 will be the year when the SF 49ers get back in the playoff mix. Their defense with Patrick Willis leading it will become dominant in that year and by then I am thinking they will have the offensive personnel to have a formidable offense now coordinated by Mike Martz to get to that level of play.
